How do you feel by WingsOfRedemption's quote by which he said 'you are basically crap if your kill death ratio is under 2. Your the reason people get nukes so easily!' I really don't like that guy anymore!!

Btw that's not exactly what he said word by word but that's what he basically said.

I think its only kids that think you have to have a good k/d ratio, but you see a lot of people with good k/d ratios but their win to loss is crap, If i was in a clan i would much rather have someone with a good win to loss ratio rather than a k/d ratio, at least you know you have a good team player on your team.

That's not at all true.

I've never camped and I've a k/d ratio of around 2.5. I would agree with him to an extent though, if you can't kill two people without being killed yourself, then you're probably not very good at the game.

It's a stupid thing to say. Basic maths will tell you that it's impossible for everyone in the game to have a K/D ratio of 2 or over. For every kill that you get, one person has to die.

So, if there were only 2 players, and one had a K/D ratio of 5, the other one would have to have a K/D ratio of 0.2.

Don't know who that person is, but it sounds like he is someone who takes the game way too seriously.

If you look through the leaderboards, 1 is average. 1.8 and above is probably decent but anything below is ok, lower than 1.2 and it's probably a sign that the game isn't for you.

I'm also talking about significant sample sizes btw, 10k+ kills would probably be sufficient in sampling. Small sample sizes are relatively meaningless.

The only thing that would slightly skew it are when people accidentally kill themselves, which adds one to the death count, but there isn't a corresponding kill.

Instead of thinking it as 2 kills and 0 deaths, it's a bit easier thinking it as 30 kills and 15 deaths or 20 kills and 10 deaths in every game. P.S there is a few of famous players on YouTube who's ratio is around 1.5, because they actually go for objectives, and not camp like you

I don't camp, sorry to tell you, in fact I'm probably one of the most vocal anti-camper people you'll find. I just play TDM, go around and kill people, as some scores I've posted have proven. I don't do silly "kill 10 people with a riot shield" objectives because, well, they're retarded, however I do try to level up the weapons and perks that I use. That generally involves killing people.

I'd have a much higher k/d if I didn't get murdered at the start of me playing, most games now I probably get 3/1 on k/d if not higher, have hit 10/1 an immeasurable amount of times too.

But whatever, you can hate and be jealous all you like, you're probably just shite at the game and are trying to make yourself feel better about it

I used to have a K/D of 1.85 which was steadily rising. Then I realised that being hung up over ratios makes the game incredibly boring.

Now I just like to do things for fun. Stickies, throwing knives, executing snipers with a pistol. My ratio has gone down to 1.64 but my win loss has gone up. I didn't camp before but I was a lot more conservative and less willing to rush headfirst in.

Not only that but it is so much more fun when you don't care about ratios.

I have a k/d ratio of .5, my younger brother has a kill death ratio of 1. he tells me i suck balls, and you know what, i do. on the other hand I neither own a ps3 nor have one in the house and this is the first game I've played in depth since quake 1 - I'm also completing a masters whilst the brother has successfully dropped out of first year. there could be a correlation.

True I suck at mw2, but i enjoy the game even though i suck. and to anyone who would lord it over me with there mighty kill death ratio i say.... i have a girlfriend.

So let me get this straight , what you are saying is...
1.8 and above your good
below 1.8 is ok
1.2 and below and the game isnt for you
1 = average

so if everybody that had a kill/death ratio decided not to play since "its not for them" how would the stats look.

I used to play domination with a guy before and he used always go negitive but yet always on top of the leaderboard, he must be pretty bad eh ?
I have another group of friends that play hardcore tdm and they camp something awful but it works for them , both their k/d and w/l are over 2.5 but come up against me in domination , they get run over.

Now if you only ever play tdm and you have a k/d ratio of 1 i wouldnt say this game is not for you.

Ah, picking out the errors in a post I made...classy. Let's not go down that route, lest I draw attention to the many grammatical failiures in that post alone

But for the sake of it, let us say:
<=1 : Shite
>1<=1.5 : Decent
>1.5<=2 : Good
>2: Very good.

They're overall leaderboards afterall. It doesn't take too much to play S&D and not go negative.

Although after 2 it really comes down to playing style, I obviously don't rate campers but they'd tend to have >2 because they're pussies who can't play properly. Most, if not all, hardcore players tend to be mega campers, so I don't tend to rate them either. You'd think that they lack of HUD and increased damage would push them to be more skillfull, but instead it motivates them to play worse seemingly.

I'm over 2 K/D in MW2 but that's low for me compared to COD4. I certainly do not camp or focus on just kills. I play tactically and I play for the team 90% of matches.
There are times playing public where I'm a tad rattled and go for kills only especially when on a **** team/no chance of winning.

I think I'm at about 1.4-1.5. Could be higher I guess, when I camp its easy to pick up a 20 kills and one or two deaths. I really couldn't be bothered though, I prefer objective based games which force some degree of movement on behalf of the players. Plus I love the riot shield on domination even doesn't get me a huge KD ratio, but it allows me to cap points in the face of heavy firepower.

I have a k/d ratio of 1.24 (on all COD's it varies up to 1.26 on WaW) w/11k kills.
I have a full time job with the Government.
I am married to a smokin hot wife.
10 boy, 5 boy, 10-month old girl.
Taking 2 college classes via online.

Some people just aren't good at video games, then some are, and then some are good at certain video games but suck at FPS. I think I'm better than most at COD but I'm not the best. I can go games sporting 30-4 and others where I'm 16-18. I never camp, I play the games how they are meant to be played (domination, capping points; S&D, exploding ****; etc).

I tend to level up everything and go out of my way to complete challenges like Riot Shield (which I've never come out of a game with a positive k/d ratio while using it, but we almost always win the Domination match, lol) which have brought down my k/d ratio substantially.

It's much easier to have a higher k/d ratio in this game vs the others with the introduction of care packages (I never have this selected) and other killstreaks, not to mention the awesomeness of the perks.

It's easily doable to have a >2 or even >3 k/d ratio, you just gotta play with deadly killstreaks.

But don't get me started on the retards that glitch care packages to get their k/d ratio up... pansies if you ask me.
