What's the things you enjoy, that maybe you shouldn't? Something that most would disagree with, online at least.

Gotta admit, I'm a sucker for the big men that it's not cool to like. Mark Henry is awesome, I do like Batista too, Big Zeke is brilliant when not talking and was fantastic at the Rumble, The Big Show if booked better could've been seen among the all time greats and it's still great watching him squash people etc... Sure, they get criticized for being bad workers but I think it's a completely different skill to be a convincing big man with some kind of an aura that doesn't get enough appreciation and to be honest I'd rather see them with a world title than a cruiserweight that puts on 4 star matches every week.

    there, I said it!

    Your turn!

    Mark Henry is f*cking awesome.

    Also the Natural Disasters.

Eh, I thought liking wrestling itself was a guilty pleasure.. :D

Collecting wrestling merchandise, even though I have no use for most of it. And I always liked the Beverley Brothers gimmick. And I love the Rock Bottom PPV even though it was poo. :P

    I like X-Factor's theme song:

    I like X-Factor's theme song:

You only like it cos it's brilliant. I was fair upset it wasnt on one of them WWF the music cds when I was younger.

My guilty pleasure is the Abe Washington show. Tony Atlas's laugh makes me laugh every time. He's a hero. Abe isnt the best though

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

    I like X-Factor's theme song:

I should ban you for that.

    Worst faction ever.

My guilty pleasure, and this disturbs me from time to time - I stay in some saturday nights when the missus is out, get absolutely hammered watching various indy and Japanese promotions. I turn my buddies dowmn for nights out for this.

I like Hornswoggle and love to see him on Raw with DX :o

I loved the Papa Shango character and most other characters of that nature. I was also a massive fan of Kirwan White, much more so than when he was just plain Chavo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,238 ✭✭✭✭Rjd2

I don't care how silly people thought they were, I loved 2 Cool's gimmick. :D
They would haqve been so over in this era as its such a kiddy friendly gimmick.:(:(

They were so over back then! It's crazy watching back and hearing The Worm get a bigger pop than anything or anyone today. MVP and Kofi Kingston would kill for the crowd to chant as loud during their call out moves.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,238 ✭✭✭✭Rjd2

Insanely over, the midcard would kill for pops like this. :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,093 ✭✭✭✭chopperbyrne

If Scotty 2 Hotty appeared as a guest in the Rumble the W...O...R...M would have gotten the biggest pop of the night!

Popping like a true Mark almost everytime something so expected happens, Edge at the rumble being an example of the most recent.

My guilty pleasure would probably be Dolph Ziggler and Zack Ryder. I think Ziggler has massive potential as a heel....good on the mic and good in ring potential aswell, I would love to see him get a shot at the IC/US title. Zack Ryder.....he's just a gimp but the whole 'Woo, Woo, Woo' and 'You Know It' I think is class. I like his pants aswell. Don't see him gettin too far but I still like him. His music aswell, pure muck but awful catchy. Yoshi Tatsu aswell...I mean, look at him...modern day Funaki at best but his music....worse than Ryders but still catchy

    Correct!
And as I said before if they were around these days they would be just as popular with the kids.
Its just a shame they turned Rikishi heel and that Sexsay was a tool in real life. :(

    McMahon's Million Dollar Mania!

I just found it hilariously cringeworthy that he think that dedicating that amount of time on each show to it would be popular!

Oh and the week he announced it, I remember the King trying to put over how excited the WWE Universe was about it to the extent that when a fan jumped the barrier and got into the ring during the main event, King said "the fan is obviously too excited about the mcmahon million dollar giveaway!" Of course he was King!

    Tony Schiavone.

I used to like his commentary.

I love Rovert and wish he'd come back. Also a massive Kennedy fan. Marked massively when I saw some guy wearing his shirt in Milan

Oh I know you hate X-Factor but you ain't look at them like that.

I rarely laugh out loud to anything wrestling related but when that music first bellowed "I GOT EV'RYTHING I EVER WANTED!" that did it. I'll always appreciate X-Pac for that, but his wrestling was influencial in getting me to realise WWF was better than WCW in the first place.

    ----

And I was one of the few Billy Gunn fans. Not the TNA Torrie Wilson pants days obviously.

Yeah! I thought it was brilliant. I thought it went on just long enough. I think it came to its natural conclusion and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Made me really like Kurt Angle and actually made him look strong.

Brought in some great new talent I'd never heard of like RVD and Booker T (Booker T was pretty awesome during that period)

The twists and turns throughout kept it interesting.

    I thought it was brilliant

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,380 ✭✭✭geeky

For years, I thought the rock thing was really, really stupid. (I still do, but now I appreciate its awesomeness).

Then my guilty pleasure became the people's elbow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,238 ✭✭✭✭Rjd2

Eugene's musical chairs was a thing of utter genius.:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 685 ✭✭✭Cactus Colm

I know I'm supposed to think that Joey Styles is one of the best commentators around ... but I always hated him. His constant shreiks of "Oh My God" did my head in.

I do however think Michael Cole is pretty great, and found drunk michael cole hilarious.

Mine is Mickie James, few lads in the pub seem to agree also :D

"Hi lad,she isnt fat at all, shes a serious figure" was one of the random quotes on a Friday evening:)

This fella on commentary. Striker is the best commentator WWE have atm. He reminds me of King's heel commentary before

That was one of the funniest things ever. Naytch as usual steals the show.

Also the Rock when he gets kicked off Raw but takes the mic backstage and bumps into loads of people:

Santino,I laugh every time he is on screen. Jericho I think he is the best wrestler ever. When I was a kid it was the Rock and Sock Connection, greatest tag team in history.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,199 ✭✭✭G-Money

I like the Deuce & Domino entrance theme.

The Miz is one of my favourite wrestlers at the moment. Although that's not much of a guilty confession to be honest. His promo's are great and like I said in another thread, they make sense. Often the wrestlers these days start banging on about something in a promo and it's not interesting and often doesn't seem that relevant.

The Miz targets stuff that you can relate to and understand and would love to say yourself.

I often get a bit frustrated with how often when wrestlers are feuding they will say "I respect you but..." In that case all I can think is "If I hated someone as much as you're supposed so, I wouldn't respect them, I would despise them and have nothing positive to say about them whatsoever".

I'm the only person in the world who enjoys watching those old World of Sport wrestling matches with the three minute rounds.:o

I also think the Big Boss Man was one of the most talented and athletic big men in wrestling and should have gotten a much bigger singles puch in the 80's.:o

Relating back to my first post, I used to tune in to that on TWC back in the day in the hopes of seeing Big Daddy v Giant Haystacks. Catweazle was also brilliant.

I like to watch bad early 90's matches & promos between gimmicky wrestlers who cant wrestle.

No wrestling what so ever (well a very small bit), just men making silly faces at each other while wearing silly costumes & having silly catchphares . Just how wrestling should be done. OH Yeaaaaah Dig IT!!!!!! :D

I was thinking Duke The Dumpster Droese and Papa Shango, but Macho Man was an awesome wrestler.

My brother says Matt Morgan is my guilty pleasure I don't agree I don't think he's any way near bad enough to fall into that category

    John Cena's theme music.

    it's epic when it hits.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,199 ✭✭✭G-Money

    Guilty Pleasures/Confessions:

    Cena
    HHH
The start of Cena's entrance music
    Jerishow
    Big Dave

I have to admit, I'm not a huge fan of Shawn Michaels. Don't get me wrong, he's a good wrestler in the ring and has loads of good matches at Wrestlemania etc. But overall, I'm not a huge fan.

Quite like Sheamus' promo's now too.

I don't care what anyone thinks i thought Kizarny was awesome WWE never even gave him a chance on the mic r anything.

Like his promo's were awesome and funny trying to understand his carny talk.

Would have liked to see him and Boogeyman in some sort of freakshow gimmik stable.

Also I have no love for the old ECW nor do I think Joey Styles was a good commentator.

I loved Billy and Chuck, I thought they were a great tag team.

    I love Batista.

Oh yeah Macho Man was a good wrestler just his catchphrase popped to mind first when thinking about that era.

To be fair to the gimmick era most of the main eventers were pretty good wrestlers...Macho Man, Bret,Mr.Perfect,HBK,Flair,Diabasie etc...the rest of them had about one move each.

He had a really fun tag team with Shannon Moore a few years ago but then it got split. Their is some good matches between them and Mizorrison if you know where to look online.:P
