Just browsing in Lidl today and passed the cosmetics section where the condoms are. I'd be afraid to use them cause they are not brand name. Anyone else feel the same? Its complete rubbish really when I think about it. None of em are 100% anyway!

    Condoms? Nope.

But I've found their crisp packets to be super effective

They have them on the counter in the €2 shop too, like it's just going to be an impulse buy while you're there.

I've always wanted to go into a shop and ask for condoms... Then when he says the price, say I don't have enough money, buy a packet of elastic bands and ask for a bag with that.

2 breaks with Durex, 1 break with Mates yeeeears ago. Never a broken Lidl rubber after a few years of regular use!

Are they blue and yellow? Please say they are.

Turn them inside out and you've got flavoured condoms. "So honey, which would you prefer. Salt and vinegar or smokey bacon."

    Always use Mates ribbed myself.

Was popping a ripe young thing in Maynooth recently and she 'battered up' big time when she got the 'rasp' on the sidewalls.

    Talking major gowl gravy here.

    Totally recommend.

The bigger bags the multi-packs come in* are good too.

*If that can be considered a pun, it's very much intended.

Nope, only the finest condoms can be used to make condom blimps*.

*A condom blimp is when you blow up the condom and sellotape the box to the bottom, then you have a fun toy to keep yourself amused while your friend has sex in the room beside you :)!

You should really throw that out, they are supposed to be disposable.

EDIT, Boo The Zohan stole my joke and posted it first.

The only difference is they have the CE mark on them and not the British standard 'kite' mark.
What does the CE mark mean?

Condoms designed for contraception, or as protection against sexually transmitted infections, are classed as medical devices and are covered by the Medical Devices Directive. All condoms marketed within the European Union must have CE marking to show they meet European standards.

Lidl have put on their website that there'll be no come back. Has me worried :(

The only difference between these and "branded" ones is that you pay extra for the well-known branded ones so that they can pay for advertising to ensure that they stay well known and can keep on charging you extra.

    As they say......."Every Lidl Helps!"

vatican roulette is the best form of contraception, ie. pull out just before you blow your beans

    not really

    Yup.

    Standards are standards.

Brand, in the context of something like condoms, means nothing in terms of effectiveness.

    People are stupid.

It's like buying Panadol over generic Paracetamol - and yet, many many people do!

    Roulette you say?
    FYP:D

Personally, I'd rather fork out for the name brand condoms.

I think that Lidl do great offers on meat products, always cheap yet great quality so yes, I'd think that their condoms would be good too.

Well if they're good enough for the Germans...

I can't help myself. It has to be said.
I know the people who mentioned double-bagging were joking, but there are innocents abroad.
    http://www.goaskalice.com/1139.html
Using two condoms at the same time is not recommended for either safer sex or pregnancy prevention. In fact, "double-bagging" can increase the friction between the condoms during intercourse, making them more likely to rip or tear.

Linked article: Since March, the workshop had turned out 2.16 million unsterilised condoms labelled as Jissbon, “Durex”, “Rough Rider”, “Six Sense” and “Love Card”.

    Jissbon! :pac:...
