so here it is, bought myself a 2nd hand 60gb ps3, now all of a sudden my backlog of games is huge, especially with mass effect 2 gonna be taking up time for the next few weeks. think i'm gonna have to put bioshock 2 on hold for a while, until i catch up a reasonable amount i suppose.

here is my list of games i own that i must finish... pretty poor gaming by me that i still haven't finished some of these...

    PS2
    Resident Evil 4
    MGS 3: Snake Eater
    God of War 2
    Killzone
    Shadow of the Colossus

    PS3
MGS 4: Guns of the Patriots
    Little BigPlanet
    Killzone 2
    Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

    Xbox 360
    Mass Effect 2
    Assassins Creed II
    Ninja Gaiden II
    Dead Space
    Left 4 Dead
    Star Wars: TFU
    Oblivion
    Fallout 3
    Fable II
    GTA IV

    XBLA
    Shadow Complex

At least if i get laid off my job i'll have something to keep me occupied i suppose.

Anyone else got a backlog thats starting to look scary?

My god! You must have the attention span of a 3 year old geared up on skittles!!! :P Try buying one game and finishing it before buying another. That way you can trade the old one in against a new one.

Only one on my list at the mo is far-cry 2! Just too big to get involved. So i lost interest.

Here are the main games I own that I never finished:

    Bioshock
    Deadspace
    Chronicles of Riddick
    Torchlight
    Borderlands
    STALKER: Chernobyl
    Oblivion
    Batman: Arkham Asylum

Half were bought in the Steam Sale though so it's not too bad I guess. I've a good few more though, I just can't think of them right now.

Fun fact; I've two copies of Bioshock. Got it off a friend initially, but never finished it, forgot about it and bought it again recently.

    Okami
    P3/P4

I got a ps3 a month or two before christmas and since then then only game I've finished is MW2. I'm not getting any more games till red dead redemption which looks likes it gonna be great, maybe bad company 2 aswell. Gotta work my way through these:

    Infamous

Still have to finish ODST and a few more on xbox too.
Plus MAG is taking up most of my time atm.
Thinking of finishing up the PS3 games I have and flogging it off again going back to the xbox full time.

I'm not even going to bother listing them. I'll just say that my backloggery list in my signature is far from complete.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,067 ✭✭✭L31mr0d

I'll usually only start a game if I intend to complete it.

That being said, I've yet to complete Fallout 3 and haven't played it in over a week. I reached my level cap of 30 and just lost interest. I could stomach exploring ruins where there was little to nothing going on when I knew that with every door I picked and safe I cracked that I was inching closer and closer to my next level and perks so even the mundane had a purpose.

But now, without any personal benefit, exploring these places has lost all appeal to me. I'm ridiculously overpowered, even the boss enemies can be taken out easily now. I have more bottle caps then I know what to do with so there is no monetary incentive. I've also bought the perk that gives me all the schematics for the special weapons.

I should really just start it back up and complete it, but every time I sit down at the PC I end up playing SFIV or working my way through Crysis again.

    Fallout 3
    BioShock
    Oblivion
    Dead Space.

I want to try an finish Bioshock before the second one comes out but with AvP being released soon not sure I'll have time for it.

Bioshock. Never bought it at release, and just got it recently to see what all the fuss was about before the new one came. Played about 2 hours and didnt really like it. The general hyper stylised look of it just puts me off. I cant seem to buy into it like other games of its type.

    Maybe some day....

    Persona 3

    Odin Sphere

    Rogue Galaxy

    God of War Collection

Dark Chronicle (again, doubt I ever will)

Would be here all day if I were to list all of the uncompleted games I've put back on the shelf over the years.

    From the current gen (and I'm missing a good few here);
    Mirrors Edge
    Dead Space
Conan (I was actually enjoying it for the stupid slasher it is!:P)
    Bionic Commando
    Metal Gear Solid 4
    Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles
Metroid Prime 3 (got as far as the last boss)
    Red Alert 3
    EDF
    Stranglehold
    Pure
    Ninja Gaiden 2
    Quantum of Solace
    Bully
    Both Viva Pinata games
    Condemned
    Stuntman Ignition
    R6 Vegas
    Dead Rising
    Oblivion
    Resistance 1 & 2
Crysis (couldn't be arsed beating the last boss)
Crysis Warhead (still not sure why the hell I bought this!)

Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay

    Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway

im sorry but that last boss was a piece of piss to kill. i thought id die on my first time trying cos ya know, its a last boss... ended up killing it far too easily. probably the most disappointing last boss ive played against since the one in bioshock

I know the feeling too well! I've limited myself to 1 new release a month and 2 older ones if the combined price is <£30, but still don't have time to get through them.
Going to force myself not to buy any more games now until I get through some of the older ones that I've got piled up...

ive tried that, was going grand until MW2 came out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,850 ✭✭✭Fnz

Meh, I don't owe my games anything - if a title fails to hold my interest, forcing myself to complete it seems a strangely masochistic endeavour - there's usually something else to play.

    Hitman Blood Money

GTA4 sucked out everything that was ever fun about GTA and replaced it with grayness and "maturity". Never going to finish that one!

Far Cry 2, it's a grand game but it's just too freakin' big, I got to a point and realised I was just doing the same stuff over and over!

Dead Space, I had a bad experience with it one night and never went back. Actually want to finish that one though!

think they all came out around 2005/2006, had a couple of years where i thought i had grown out of console gaming, then i got myself a 360, and 50 or so games later i remembered that i hadn't grown out of anything and got myself a 60gb ps3.
