Just read this article in the herald, it states that women dress for other women.
Personally i dont care what other women think of what i'm wearing, if the lads like it then its all good.

It also brings up the idea of girls girls and guys girls, there's certain girls that men like, Paris Hilton, Cameron Diaz, Kelly Brooke and Angelina Jolie and the girls that girls like but men dont really get like Jennifer Aniston and Catherine Zeta Jones.

So what are you, a girls girl or a guys girl, and do you agree with the article??

I'm just me, neither a girls girl or a guys girls. I don't dress for guys and I don't dress for girls, sounds way too exhausting.

the girls that girls like but men dont really get like... Catherine Zeta Jones.

Whoa, whoa, whoa there, Silver. EVERYONE likes CZJ.

I agree with the article I think alot of women do dress for other women as most men don't notice what a girl is wearing unless there is alot of flesh on show. I have to admit that I would normally make more of an effort when going out with my group of girlfriends then I do with my boyfriend. Other women judge appearances alot more then men do.

Not that I dont agree with it, I just dress the way I want.

I wear the clothes that suit my style and my style is for me not for anyone else.

But on a girl crush note... sure I think certain girls look nice in such a dress but it wouldnt suit me.

meh. i dress for me. i like to look in the mirror and see something I like - if other people like it then great :)

to be honest half the time i dress for noone, i dress so that im covered and warm. at 6.45 when im dragging myself out of bed and throwing on the first thing i find the girls/boys in the office are the last thing on my mind.

God The Evening Herald is utter crap. Why must the media make divisons bewteen women when there is none.
'As in real life, famous women can be broken up into two distinct groups'
Well thats just a load of nonsense, you cannot break women into two distinct groups.

Its also fairly insulting to men as it suggests men dont 'get ' someone like Kate Winslet because she is sophisticated and seeminly intelligent.
I hate anything that reinforces men as Big dumb Buffons only intrested in Beer and Breasts stereotype.

While it's true that most women would appreciate another woman's clothing more than a man would, it's a mistake to assume he doesn't notice at all. And while I appreciate a Woman's dress sense, what she is "about" is more important to me. I like people with a little kindness and depth.

Don't you mean "..notice what a girl is not wearing.."?

"Arriving" in the pub in little more than the underwear is not very impressive, and it's fairly obvious where the person's priorities are.

Please don't pair me off with Paris Hilton, I wouldn't sneeze on her. Likewise for Dita Von Teese and Madonna, among others, take them away.

As for Catherine Zeta Jones and Kate Winslet, yes please. :)

I was surprised they put CZJ in the Girls' Girl category. Obviously not EVERYONE likes her, but it sure seems like tons of men do.. She's definitely one of those classic "va Va VA VOOOOM" types, and quite different that Jennifer A., who seems more cute than beautiful to me.

I'm defo a girls girl I'd say I dress for myself and for other girls too, I'd prefer a compliment from a girl than a guy means more somehow.

its funny,Im a bloke and out of the girls OP said guys like i dont like any of them , but love the two women are suppose to like,
Just dress in what ever makes you feel confident notting more appealing than a confident women, as long as you dont go over the top

I dress for the occasion more than for people. If I'm going on a date, I dress for confidence and for the guy; girls' night out, I dress to look my best, but also on a par with what the other gals are wearing - like I wouldn't turn up in jeans and a top if the rest were wearing dresses, that sort of thing.

Day to day, I just dress for me I guess.

Or "Every girl goes out on a Saturday night to be a sex symbol" according to Una Helay. Something about that statement has always freaked me out probably because I'm more inclined to dress to impress other fashion obsessed women aka the herald article.

Bit of a stupid article IMHO. Sounds like she came up with a list of skinny celebs who she reckons guys should fancy and then stuck a whole pile of random words around their names.
When I get dressed up, I put on what makes me feel good, and I wouldn't take anybody's advice apart from my friends who have my own interests at heart if they tell me they like/dislike my clothes.

I don't take enough notice of such articles to even let them bother me. Life is too short for that crap.

yeah, i got 2 or 3 paragraphs into that article and just couldn't be arsed finishing it.

but i think it's safe to say i dress for me. given im averaging at being mistaken for male about once a month (three times in january though), it's safe to say im not dressing to impress either gender, it's just the clothes i find comfortable.
