    Hi Lads,
Im 6'2 and about 14 1/2 stone so average enough but have a bit of a belly, am looking to lose alot of body fat and build muscle. Dont want to be a body builder or anything just very toned. Somebody has recommended the diet below to me does it sound right??

breakfast: Porridge made with water, two boiled eggs and a scoop of avacado for healthy fat

11am: handful of mixed nuts and an apple
Lunch: Chicken salad with some red peppers and red onions with drizzle of balsamic vinegar

    3pm: Protein shake

Dinner: Any grilled meat/fish/poultry with salad and/or bown rice.

    8pm: protein shake
Also taking a creatine supplement and also a mutivitamin.

Am doing weights 5 weights nights a week concentrating on arms and abs every night with one other muscle group on each night (chest, back shoulders etc..)

Does this sound right for what I want?? Thanks for any help.

Read the Stickies on fitness, nutrition, and supplements. Read through them, and start building up a base of knowledge about what you wanna do and how you'll do it. Then come back, if you can't find the answers. Most are in the stickies.

    hey,

ok first of all I think it is impossible to lose body fat while building muscle so you need to decide which route you want to go down. May i suggest that losing body fat might be the first goal you should attempt.

First of all get your body fat measured in the gym this will help you track your progress.

Second if you are losing body fat and toning the muscle you have you need to make a few diet amendments - I would stop drinking the protein shakes if your goal is to lose body fat. Possibly also just stick to porridge at breakfast but there is no real harm in eggs and a limited amount of avocado.

Thirdly change your gym routine to incorporate full body exercises such as the Squat, Bench press, Deadlift, full chin ups and shoulder press. These exercises work all the large muscles which in turn will burn more calories. working the arms everyday is a very inefficient way of doing resistance exercises and its time that could be better spent

this is at least the third time in a few months that you started a thread asking the exact same thing. have you taken on board the advice given previously? you need to stop sitting on the fence and do something NOW

....or start posting on the 'sitting on your ass' forum. Whatever suits.
