Question on Sets

    howdy folks, Your thoughts please on the following .....

    I'm gonna try to focus on one muscle group up each day I'm at the gym then give it a few days to rest so for example say Monday I'll be doing the chest

    3 sets of push ups
    3 sets of flat dumbell press ....each set going heavier with less reps
    3 sets of incline DB .............. " " " "
    3 pec deck machine ......................" " " "

    Now my question is for the above workout should I do the 3 sets of push ups before moving onto 3 sets of flat DB press then incline 3 sets incline etc etc OR should I do 1 set of each exercise and then start 2nd set of each ???

    A set is normally done by completing the total sets for the exercise and then moving on to the next exercise. Unless you are supersetting or doing some full body workout. No need for the pec dec machine though. Your muslces would probably be exhausted by the time you get around to it and you won't be gaining anything from it.

    Thats a lot of sets, how long have you been training? You might be better off with 2-3 full body workouts per week. I'd swap the machine for dips.
