weight lifting(what foods should i be taking?

    hey,i am turning 17 soon and i have started to do weights in the gym.
    i booked a weights assesment in for monday but i was wondering what is the best diet i should be on. what type of foods i should eat during the day,before after the workout!

    all high protein, clean carbs and healthy fats.

    Protein

    chicken
    fish - tuna
    egg whites

    Carbs

    Oatmeal
    Brown rice

    Fats

    Salmon
    Udos Oil is great for healthy fats

    +1 the only thing I would add is a LOT of vegetables and fruit, in addition to foods above would be a very good diet

    yeah I don't eat a lot of fruit but I should.

    I never used to eat veggies as I hated the taste, but nowadays I throw a load of them into a pot boil them up and liquefy it when cooked.

    I eat one or two portions of soup a day.

    You should read all the sticky links at the top of the fitness forum, most people who post there lift weights (there is no specific weight lifting forum) there is some great advice in old threads and the stickies.
