Weights-one arm at a time!

Is there anything wrong with just using one arm at a time as opposed to two arms when doing upper body lifting?? I'm currently lifting 7kg with both arms- left arm is slightly weaker than right arm.

    Thanks for any advice:)

As long as you're working both arms, then I see no problem with it.

Usually when you're doing dumbbell curls, one arm gives out before the
other. At that point, I simply put the dumbbell down and work on exhausting the stronger arm.

I'm about 8 and half stone and have just started free weights the last two weeks. Hope to increase the weight as I go on. What should a girl be aiming for in terms of increase each week or month?

    Thanks again:)

You should stop when your weakest arm fails. You're just perpetuating the problem and creating a muscle imbalance. Most will people will always favour one side, and be stronger as a result, but you shouldn't exacerbate the problem!

spot on sangre also start with the weaker limb so you know how many reps you can do

Alternating bicep curls are my favorite dumbell excersize.
Once both arms are worked equally you'll be fine.:D

    Cheers.
