Leinster have already qualified for the knockout stages so they will be gunning to secure a home quarter final and gain revenge for the 9-12 loss to London Irish at the RDS.

London Irish must win and score a try in the process to at least qualify as a runner up. In this case, they will qualify ahead of Northampton Saints by virtue of their superior points difference.

Shane Jennings starts for Leinster at openside ahead of the in-form Sean O'Brien while Topsy Ojo returns on the wing for London Irish after a long injury lay-off.

The two centre partnerships will have some tussle in midfield as will both scrum halves who are desperate to put their hands up for national team selection.

I'd say Leinster will win by 5-7.

Hopefully Leinster won't struggle in the lineout like they did at the RDS. Just hope we see a good game too. Leinster by 5.

Some unusual selections from both teams.

Leinster beef up the front row after the trouble they had against LI in the opener. Jackman is a marginally better scrummager the Fogs but he is pretty much hitting Reddan in the head at lineout time. I think its a dangerous switch considering how dangerous LI's lineout is.

Irish have picked two wingers just back from injury but with real gas. I think they'll use Malone to put the ball in behind Horgan and Nacewa, who are not the quickest on the turn. The problem I see with this ploy is that any kick that drifts even slightly infield Kearney will hoover up.

Should be a fascinating game, possibly low scoring.

I'm really worried about the lineout.......but Jackman is a monster in the loose.

These 50/50 decisions can make or brake a game. Really looking forward to this, C'mon Leinster!!! :)

Really looking forward to this one despite having to watch on a laptop with kids fighting nearby. Could be tight but Leinster owe London Irish a whipping - hopefully tonight! Leinster by more than 7. :D

Very nice touch finder from Malone.

    Jackman throw not straight.

    LI scrum in Leinster 22.

What was Jackman playing at there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

    Terrible miss from Malone!

    Still 3-0, 14 mins.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,586 ✭✭✭sock puppet

How many Leinster supporters there? Judging from the crowd noise you;d swear it's a home game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

    Leinster lineout is a disaster.

Speculative DG attempts from Mapusua and Malone. Irish playing some nice rugby though.

Leinster doing well with very aggressive defence.

Reddan has a brain fart. WTF?

I'm just glad he's reached the quota at this early stage.

Really really dull game so far...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Sexton long range penalty comes off the post.

Jackman taken off, good call by Chieka.

Both teams cancelling each other out so far.

Nice move from Leinster there, Sexton on the double wraparound, forward to Horgan in the end.

    +1 corny.

    Malone kicks a penalty, 3-3.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,586 ✭✭✭sock puppet

Has Kearney ever actually scored a drop goal?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Nacewa try in the corner, great pressure from the Leinster scrum.

    Missed conversion, 8-3.

    Halftime.

What on earth are you talking about? The forwards are dominating and have been excellent. Nacewa's try was built on their pressure

    Great Score!!!

Fair enough, Nacewa's try was well taken, but the fact remains its a poor match & L. Irish have had 66% of the ball.....

Think they're playing well within themselves alright. Still good enough to beat Irish though.

I want to see what looked like cheap shot on Cullen again.

In the last second of the mall on the Irish line, just as the ball has gone out to BOD an Irish player hits Cullen. I think it was with his forearm when Cullen wasn't looking.

Just seen it very briefly again in Scott Qunnell's bit, as Cullen goes in with some rucking and then is tied up in the ruck, the ball goes wide Cullen is looking at the ball and an Irish hits him from his blind side.

Might be worth another look by the match commissioner after the game.

    Doesn't look good.

Well Leinster have been kicking a lot of posession away. The pack have turned over LI ball when it mattered and Leinster's defence has held up despite a lot of breaks from London Irish. And with Fogerty on the lineout should be better. It's not a vintage performance but it's not poor either I think.

yeah i could see how it is dull for the neutral

lucky try for us too...i'd be bitter about the complete detachment of our 6 and 8 at that try.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,549 ✭✭✭✭Judgement Day

A bit scrappy but Leinster should finish them off in the 2nd half. Fingers crossed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

    As it stands:

    Leinster vs Saints
    Munster vs Ospreys

    Keep it up lads! :D

    Healy yellow card.

    Punch on Casey.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,327 ✭✭✭Profiler

    Healy yellow card.

    Punch on Casey.

Not a punch, as can be seen in replay, but probably a yellow card.

Healy reacted to Casey slapping Reddan and on that basis probably the right decision. However no action for the Irish player jumping on Healy and punching him?

I'd be a sort of a neutral and I'm really enjoying this game. Darcy is having a blinder.

Looks like shoulder or collar bone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,586 ✭✭✭sock puppet

    CJ gone. Mike Ross on.

Ross on. Now we'll see if there is a chance he is up to international rugby.

Cullen now carrying a knock to an arm. Another one that doesn't look good.

    (edit)

    Seems OK now.

D'Arcy for Ireland 12 shirt, his best game for a while.

SOB on for Jennings, Healy back from sinbin.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,280 ✭✭✭Bukman13
