    manchesterunited.jpg V Hull_city_415010a.jpg
Rio Ferdinand will make his long-awaited return for Manchester United against Hull tomorrow. The England defender has been missing for three months with a back complaint but is expected to partner Jonny Evans in central defence as United look for the victory that would allow them to claim top spot in the Premier League. Dimitar Berbatov has shaken off a dead leg and should also return after missing Tuesday's Carling Cup defeat at Manchester City.
Manchester United (from): Van der Sar, Kuszczak, Neville, Rafael, Ferdinand, Brown, Evans, Evra, Fabio, Valencia, Park, Fletcher, Carrick, Scholes, Anderson, Gibson, Giggs, Obertan, Rooney, Berbatov, Owen, Welbeck, Diouf

    K.O 15.00

ill go for a formation of

    VDS
    Raf
    Rio
    Evans
    Evra
    Valenica----Fletch---carrick----Park
    Berba
    Rooney

    3-0 utd

To say this game is important is an understatement.

Winning here and we are on top if only for a short time but psychologically I think it will be huge.

It's massive, result is huge obviously, but I'll like to see a good performance as well.

No Nani? BBC doesnt have him down as injured. Maybe he is going to Atlético Madrid for that new player who appeared on the ManUnited.com's first team player profiles last nite!!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,943 ✭✭✭abouttobebanned

Good riddance to him if he is.

It's the same thing every window, every single window, does nobody get that computers do funny things?

This match today is huge, huge. I really hope we could win it, it's imperative we do. On the plus side, getting it out of the way now gives us an extra rest soon when we need it.

Delighted that Owen is starting! Maybe SAF had his eyes opened when he came on against City.

ugh! Nani & Park starting. Hopefully Nani will be on the right and show us what he can do!

Some interesting reading in the Manchester United programme ahead of their game with Hull, where boss Sir Alex Ferguson has made an impassioned plea for Red Devils fans to try to quell their unhappiness about the club's financial situation after their debts were revealed to have risen to £716m. Ferguson said: "We mustn't allow the situation to be divisive. We could be perceived as being split which I believe would be harmful and inaccurate."

quote from todays match prog from the bbc

Anderson dropped out completely. Not sure why he persists in playing Scholes to be honest, but I actually think its not a bad team.

Berbatov is obviously being rested, so Owen gets in after his decent sub performance. Nani did well in his last game so deserves his start.

Valencia had to be rested eventually, though it clearly means that Fergie sees the League Cup as a priority. Personally I woulda preferred the 3 points today for sure than getting to the final of the league cup.

    Disappointed no Valencia

He is fast becoming one of our most important players if not already.

United going to be top in a few hours =

    2 games in hand = :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,789 ✭✭✭nicklauski

Hopefully Nani play on the right. Bit negative with Park playing as I realy dont think he offers anything going forward in the final third.
Good to see Owen getting a start. Hopefully bangs one in and gives Fergie a selection head ache :D
