I don't know why everyone is so forgiving... members passwords and details were put at risk (and we all know the majority of people use the same passwords for different things)... To Boards.ie: Wake up! and implement better security!

Shut up you stupid ****er. Every single forum has to save passwords somewhere to verify login details. The passwords were encrypted, like any other site would have them. Boards actually did nothing wrong. But you would need to know a bit about computers to realise that :rolleyes:

I don't use the same passwords.
Isn't that password 101. I think boards did its duty, informing people and advising them to change their passwords.

Would it surprise you that I do? IMO, your the stupid ****er for being so arrogant about it! What happened here shouldn't have happened to a website like this... clearly you failed with your firewalls and security, and nobody who has an account on this site should be saying thank you! you edjit!

I thanked them - cos I'm not silly enough to share passwords, especially among sites that could be targeted by hackers or have less than water-tight security....I guess that makes me....an eejit, I think it is you are trying to call me.

Let's not get our feathers all ruffled -- there was a problem, there's a bit of a recovery time, everyone has been notified to take proper precautions after said problem. What more can be done at this point in time?

Perhaps everyone's a bit on edge after being forced to quit boards cold turkey, is that it?

I actually had to concentrate on WORK goddamit!!!Instead of my usual sneeky peaks at boards and hiding it with a work-related window every time the boss walks by...:p:p

Have to say,much as I missed Boards, I was more angry than anything else. I mean,who the hell gets their kicks out of something like hacking into the site?!:mad:

Some hackers think its cool to break into these high profile sites, just to prove that they can. THere were people claiming credit for it to get kudos for it
