I thought that initially but not as sure on the reply. Would have liked to have seen it called.... if nothing else could set the tone for the match

    poor attempt at dg.

    edit: another crappy kick!

Lot of tension in this match or is it just me?

Not you.... type of match where Munster will have the edge. Here's hoping I'm right!

This is turning into just the kind of game Munster thrive on - tight, scrappy and against a team fighting for their lives - but I'm confident Munster's will to win will prove the difference. Fascinating game to watch so far...

    Nice break from ROG.

Anyone else finding this really boring?

Also how was Geraghty not sin-binned?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,166 ✭✭✭✭Zzippy

6-3 HT. Tight but Munster looking more dangerous. Northampton slowing down ruck ball very well, playing the referee who doesn't seem to give a toss about hands in the ruck. Nice break by ROG there

Not an open game but not boring.... too much riding on it for that. That said might not be the best game for a neutral.

Think Geraghty was more a scrag than a high tackle though it looked bad at first. Think Poite said he'd blown for the knock on when asked why he didn't give it.

First of all you'd swear this is a final as the rugby on display is piss poor boring. Secondly if Saints are content with playing SG at 10 why are they getting him to play a unnatural role of deep and kicking you have Steven Myler on the bench for that. Thirdly this better pick up.

    Jebus, what a miss!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,817 ✭✭✭myflipflops

Wow. Northampton are in with a real shout and they're bottling it. 2 horrible misses.

Traditionally, you don't get many chances in Thomand.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,894 ✭✭✭dreamer_ire

How did Poite miss that pass???? So far forward

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 513 ✭✭✭gavkm27

Yeah i'm not finding this game to interesting, atmosphere is amazing though!

    Munster in great difficulty.

Getting killed in the scrum

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 975 ✭✭✭louthandproud

Munster loosing this in the scrum, really getting killed in there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,249 ✭✭✭Stev_o

Worrying for Munster Saints are growing a bit more confident in attack for their sake they'd want to be sending men down Geraghty's channel to start putting him off.

Geraghty seems to be having a mare anyway at times.

Ref doesn't want to listen to POC at all.

Good kick by ROG 9-6 Munster.

saints have turned up to play no rugby. tedious game. they deserve nothing.
getting v tired of all the **** kixks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 975 ✭✭✭louthandproud

How did he not score from there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,894 ✭✭✭dreamer_ire

Odds on a penalty try here?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,166 ✭✭✭✭Zzippy

Heart in mouth for Munster. TOL block, and Northampton dominant in the scrum. Squeaky bum time!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,249 ✭✭✭Stev_o

Just for the laugh id love to see a penalty try, would be hilarious.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,316 ✭✭✭✭amacachi

I'm not an expert on the rules by any means, but why could O'Connell not put his hands on the ball there when he was on his feet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,200 ✭✭✭BoarHunter

Can't be unpunished forever. I can't believe the state of the scrum ...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 513 ✭✭✭gavkm27

    Now it's getting interesting!!

    Yeah really funny!

    How?

Not as funny as a 7 man against the head in any case!

    Stop arguing with the referee.

Kicking from both sides in fairness. You arrive in Munster and try to throw the ball about will usually result in a 20 point kicking. I think they're going about it in the right way.

It's not spectacular rugby but it's fascinating i think. Quality Heineken Cup drama.

Ruck was called. Welcome to the abyss of the rucking laws.

ROG not doing Munster any favours by hassling the ref.

    That's the spirit Munster.... Cmon

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 646 ✭✭✭yogidc26

well played Muster lucky to get with away that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,249 ✭✭✭Stev_o

    Yeah really funny!

    How?

They'v gone something like 10 years with a apparently weak scrum and have never in my memory at least given away a penalty try despite being criticised for a weak scrum would be funny to see in this day and age for the critics finally to see it happen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,944 ✭✭✭Jay P

What a turnover! Have to contain this attack now.

That grubber by Ashton is one of the most brain dead pieces of rugby I've ever seen.

    Saints bottling it.

Heh, I always thought the ruck was just anything-after-the-tackle. I'm not going to derail the thread with any more questions. :pac:

    Great kick there from Geraghty.

Inspirational stuff there without POC. Excellent blockdown from Howlett.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,094 ✭✭✭jd007

Paul O Connell back, come on Munster get a try!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 975 ✭✭✭louthandproud

If they get out of this sin binning without conceding it'd be hard to see them loose.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,944 ✭✭✭Jay P

Howlett is playing like a demon. What a quality tackle he just put in. And O Connell is back on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,249 ✭✭✭Stev_o

Game over pending penalty going over. Has been torturous to watch for the neutral. Stigma around the quaility of the highest level of rugby still remains.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,816 ✭✭✭corny

    Take a bow Dougie Howlett.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,166 ✭✭✭✭Zzippy

Pure Munster! Great pressure there, penalty conceded. Out of jail, hard to see them lose from here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,013 ✭✭✭yayamark

Have to laugh at Paul o Connell there ref talking to him and Paul looking at him thinking "if u dont **** off im gonna slap ya"
