Gettting over the asthma

    Hi guys
I've recently decided to start getting fit again. So I've started doing a bit of running everyday nothing serious yet just small short term goals.
The problem I'm having is that I actually suffer from fairly severe asthma and running in the cold always brings on an attack making it impossible the go any worthwhile distance. Basically its impossible to run when I cant breathe even though I'll still have loads of energy and a fairly low heart rate.
I know from past experiences that the only way around this is to get my lungs used to working at max capacity again.
The last time I just endured the attacks until they started to go away. But this is incredibly irritating and really makes it difficult to achieve anything.
I'm just wondering if anyone else suffers a similar problem and if there is a quicker way of getting past the barrier so I can put my heart under pressure instead of my lungs:p
    Thanks

Its possible that your heart is under pressure because of your asthma aswell. So to think of working towards max wont necessarily improve the problem.

I would suggest www.asthmacare.ie do the course or read the book, train at it and you wont have a problem. I did it 4 years ago and have no problems anymore. my asthma was of the hospitalisation nature.

    what he said!

did this course a few years back and haven't taken my inhaler since, my asthma wasn't the worst but used flare up when doing exercise.
