Right I have been lifting and doing circuits (personal trainer) since November but didnt really alter diet much and was drinking. I Know this was silly but anyway I have gotten very strict since Jan 1st!! stepped up training big time. (swimming, running, intervals and weights). I have a personal trainer for the training side of things so thats A Ok. I have lost four and a half pounds! I am 26 year old male! I have read stickies etc. When I was younger if i trained as hard as this id be losing maybe 4-5 pounds a week. This is a rate of 2 pounds a week. I know that 1-2 is ideal but just want to know if i changed this diet any bit would I increase weight loss.
breakfast- bran flakes with handful of raisins and skimmed milk.
Mid morning- two oat crackers with can of tuna
Lunch- chicken and egg white salad with a piece of fruit.
    around four- protein shake
Dinner- Cod fillet or chicken breast or turkey breast with loads of Veg
Around 9- small can of tuna or 2 pieces of fruit
I drink 3-4 litres of water per day!!

    thanks

ok, diet not too bad (eventhough expect to get slated re sugar + salt content of bran flakes) - porridge would be better for breakfast! im surprised your personal trainer doesnt have more of an input in your diet, if he / she was any good they would, diet is 70 - 80% of the battle!!
do you know how many calories you take in overall? maybe reduce this A LITTLE? its also possible you are building a little muscle which could be making the weight loss seem less - get an accurate body fat test and use this is a marker ...

If your on a cut (i.e. trying to lose weight) id drop the protein shake and have porridge for breakfast. Apart from that it looks good

Personal trainer sent me on diet but honestly i have been fighting weight all my life and certain diets that people put forward that should work for all quite simply dont. I have to cut out all bread (all types) if I want to drop weight! An I know moderation rules etc but i think bread affects my weight more than normal! So I had to alter the very general diet trainer gave me!! I think extra calories coming from maybe picking here and there at little pieces of chicken whilst cooking. so more calories going in than should. I going to cut that out from now on!!
