Just to let everyone know that "The Good Wife" the critically acclaimed US Drama starring Golden Globe winner Julianna Margulies,Chris Noth & the fantastic Christine Baranski starts next Monday 25th Jan at 10pm on C4.I'm looking forward to see this high quality show which has already been renewed for a 2nd season by CBS.

Also, great that CH4 are screening it ahead of RTE as RTE were bragging about getting this show at their autumn season launch.Knowing RTE'S Track record with many US Shows last few years, they'll prob air "Good Wife" at 2am in morn when they finally decide to screen it!!

I watched the first 2 or 3 and gave up on it. If you strip away the family backstory, it's just, IMHO, another legal procedural/trial of the week.

I have been enjoying this series. The characters are interesting and yes it is a legal drama, which I quite enjoy.

Yeah it looks good. I miss good legal dramas. Its like they have taken a Nurse from ER and put her in The Practice. :D

It is only recently that shows are shown a few weeks or days after the american air date, due to Internet Downloads. Generally most TV shows over here begin in December or January. They could easily get it sooner. When did it start in the US?

Take your time to clean it up, have it running a bit better.

RTÉ 2 was a week behind AFAIK, but I saw no adverts for it on RTÉ. RTÉ 1 is currently repeating series one at 11am each morning.

Really enjoying this series. Not as serious as Damages but just as entertaining. Micheal J. Fox's appearances have been excellent.

Christine Baranski is very good, she fits any role on any show.

I like the confrontation between Alicia and her "Christian" daughter.

Eli Gold character is well written but it is a pity that the political storyline is running too long.

Surprised at how well Maranda Cosgrove took to the series. Richard I think I have got her name wrong :)

Archie Panjabi's character is also really well written, looking forward to seeing her husband and what the other Private detective has on her.

I like the way that the series has singular episodes while also having a story arch across all episodes.

Went on a blitz this month and watch every episode up to now

Two and half series or so

    Great show

Eli Gold is the best, love that guy :pac:

Really enjoy the show, and the sometimes adventurous casting, but finding the whole Caitlin thread way too close to Legally Blonde.

Ah its not that close really lol but I see your point. Still probably the best US Network show on the air. And yet we don't have a boards spoilers forum for it :(

I feel sorry for the Mother-in-law in the show TBH. I think she is in many ways right about the children, she is also wrong but Alicia keeps looking for revenge or making it out like the Mother-in-law is completely wrong. For example buying the car for her 16 yo son, I thought that was completely wrong and so did Alicia only she does it in spite of her Mother-in-law. Also her war with Kalinda is not good. I end up feeling sorry for Alicia because she seems to be unable to forgive the people she probably can trust the most.

Eli Gold is a great character, though I think he so far has been lost in the series since the ending of the Election Campaign (which went on for too long???).

Good to see Michael J. Fox in the series, you expect Alicia to move to his firm and then he goes and robs evidence! (Could he film a full series with his condition?)

Nice to see Simon Delaney at the beginning of the series.

Yes but I was very unclear what kind of Irish/English/American hybrid he was supposed to be. The half-hearted English accent didn't help.

Eddie Izzard's character brought him up on the accent during the episode. I assume that Eddie Izzard might have suggested they suggest he has lived in England for a number of years but has a slight "kerry" accent, due to Simon being unable to do a pure English/London Accent. I think Simon Delaney should have suggested he was a Dubliner for the same reason :)

Not sure what was happening this show, only one show in all of February, why the break?

I feared it was getting cancelled but it's being renewed

No sooner was that young blonde lawyer hired then suddenly she's been written out. Seemed awful rushed

What station are you watching it on?

What station are you watching it on?

Video tapes from the US haha.

They have a tendency to take breaks from shows in the states, doesn't always mean they are planning to axe the show. At least I hope they aren't, just checked looks likes its getting series 4 :)

More 4 are a bit behind, just finished ep 10.

The daughter (Grace), they need to get rid of her out of it, her stupid storylines are worse than Carls from the walking dead......even VJ outta Home & Away is less iritating.

It was pre-empted 3 times in 4 weeks. One week was the Super Bowl, the next was the Grammys and another was the Oscars.

second half of season three just fell away

It skipped a couple of weeks due to scheduling clashes
Wasn't looking for a cliffhanger ending but not much happened at all

    Started great but ended badly

If it wasn't so popular I'd be tipping it for the axe.
But it'll be back for Season four, hope they can pick it up a bit

I fear that ABC will look for it to become the replacement for Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy. Oh sorry CBS have this show! Lets hope they don't think it is a replacement for CSI Miami.

Final episode was a bit of a damp squib, not so much of a cliffhanger but more of a "oh thats it?" feeling

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,644 ✭✭✭SerialComplaint

No spoilers now please, for those of us who haven't yet caught up.

Yep...I didn't realise that was the final episode of the series and went looking for the new one this week. Very poor series end. Enjoyable show though.

Maura Tierney Joins Season 4 Cast as

Peter Florrick has a secret weapon in his bid to become governor: Maura Tierney.

CBS’ The Good Wife has tapped the ER vet to join the Season 4 cast in the recurring role of Maddie, a self-made billionaire who started her own Internet company and is the doyenne of Chicago Democratic politics. As such, Eli eagerly pursues her money and endorsement for Peter’s campaign.

Tierney — who for half of ER Season 6 overlapped with Good Wife lead Julianna Margulies, playing Abby Lockhart to her Carol Hathaway — is slated to appear in as many as 10 episodes of the acclaimed CBS drama.

Tierney’s recent TV credits include an arc on Rescue Me, the ABC legal drama The Whole Truth and a guest star appearance on The Office.
