quick 3pay broadband topup question?

am i correct in thinking that the topup is just a normal topup that you then convert to daily, weekly , monthly broadband access. i only ask as i just purchased a mifi online just to try it out and would like to use aib online to top it up instead of having to go to a retail outlet to get a receipt and type in the topup…
