Sorry, I couldn't think of a catchy thread title :).

Anyway, as you can see from the information box on the left, I have been added to the moderators for this forum. As with the Rock & Metal forum, I would like to thank Mr. Hungus for all of his moderating work in the past and to wish him well as a regular poster when the big switch happens.

    Congrats.

Yeah, congrats !! I'm sure you'll do as good a job here as you have being doing on the "Bands and Musicians" forum. :)

    Congrats! :)

Hope you are a bit easier going than some of the 'others'.
Some mods are bit too tough around here. Mr Hungus was not one of those btw.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

Thanks very much Malice. I hope you enjoy modding the forums, and I hope others like having you as moderator. ;)

Thanks! If I could just get all new Bands & Musician threads to provide useful info like Band Location I'd have a lot less to do :).
Hope you are a bit easier going than some of the 'others'.
I like to think I'm easy going. There's only a few things that annoy me like txt speek and general muppetry which this forum doesn't really attract thankfully.
Thanks very much Malice. I hope you enjoy modding the forums, and I hope others like having you as moderator. ;)
Does my coke and hookers ration get bigger the more forums I moderate? If so, then of course I'll enjoy it ;)

Good to have you, Malice_! I really like the way you conduct your moderation on the Bands & Musicians forum. You're a good 'un :)

Its good to see you getting the mod job malice, although its sad to see the days of hungus coming to an end. On another unrelated note, where the hell has Doctor J disappeared off to?

Doc J got a warning/yellow card from his adverts and looks like he took the huff.

Only after Patricide posted I realised I hadn't seen the Doc around in a while. It is a pity he is no longer with us.

I bumped into him a while back in Xmusic. He's livin' down in the schticks now where he sits on his porch all day playing dueling banjos on a bacchus. :pac:

No more mention of Bacchus then. Other guitars DO exist though, i saw some in a music store once.

Just out of curiousity Dord, you are a mod for 'GAS', but i am blocked from it.
    What is it exactly????

Good stuff Malice, now go easy on us!! Happy modding :).

@ Darren: Being a mod involves being a 'bit tough' sometimes. With Karl gone that only leaves Fey and I've always found him to be a very good and fair mod. Sound lad and a seriously nice player too. It aint an easy job but someons gotta do it!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,658 ✭✭✭Patricide

He got a yellow card on adverts? The good doctor? This seems crazy. He always seemed like such an honorable full of information guy. Learned a lot from himself feylya and hungus over the years. Its a pity none of them post in the instruments/rock metal forums these days much.

Thank god for people such as dord, malice and voodu child though. Not saying that anyone else is bad or anything but there just names i remember at 2 am when ive been drinking :p

Possibly through the use of common sense?

    How would you know?

I was born with special psychic powers, so far I've been a little shy about revealing this gift, but nows as good a time as any I suppose. Or just go with Johnny's answer.

RIP Doc. Sadly missed. Good guy. Great taste in guitars and went against the large establishments(guitar makers, for the stupid) the way musicians should. Unlike others...

Yep, being a mod isn't all coke and hookers. Sometimes we have to do stuff.

As for the Bacchus love-in, I wonder can I start an equivalent movement for Ibanez?

Fair enough but this isnt afterhours, we talk about instruments and ask/offer advice. The heavyhanded sh1t is usually quite unnecessary.

Please do Malice. I have 1,2,3.......hmm...i have 9 of those bad boys.
That can be your first mark on the intruments forum.;)

Is there not plenty of Ibanez love on here already?

Then again they were all ****ty chape yolks apart from the j custom.

    9? Wow, I am a long way behind! I only have 3 - A K7, K5 and an SR706 (7 string guitar, 5 string bass and 6 string bass respectively).

There's always room for more :).

I think we should try to organise a Kerry/Cork instruments meet up. I'll bring my axes and I'm sure one of them will change your mind :).

    I counted 9 Ibanez....but i forgot the 7 string that i couldn't adapt to.

It's the only duplicate guitar I have. With the other Bacchus Strat(whitey :p) I have all the tones in that style I need. Besides, it means funds for more.....

Glad to hear the Doc ain't dead. He must be about 83 years old now :pac: Maybe he just can remember his password.

O wait, yeah you know i count myself wrong again. I did play a satriani that played pretty tasty. The pickups weren't that nice though and I have a hatred of tremolos...

I dunno, still torn. I might just have to play some of your axes some time malice. Only around tralee the weekends these days though malice which is when your in Gallway correct?

Man, I'd snap that baby up in a heartbeat if I could only afford it. Would 317 cases of Tesco beans be any use to you instead? C'mon man, bartering is all the rage these days! :pac:

And I still haven't forgiven you for the white one!

Wish I could become a Moderator. I'd let all sorts of mad stuff happen and have absolutely no rules at all. None, except the rule about having no rules.

So what does a Moderator do anyway?

Only me & Ste do that.

Option A: Great minds think alike.
Option B: What was that one about fools again??:pac:
