Anybody have any idea when the results are out? I've checked all over the CIT site and emailed my course co ordinator and I'm just curious as to when they are coming out.

The suspense is killing me *bites nails furiously*

    Thanks :)

    Same with me.

In a way I'd like to know but then if I see that I did very badly it wouldn't be worthwhile to go back and there are no jobs out there.

Even if I did, the best result I would get is a Pass Hons Degree

    Thanks, I was checking results.cit.ie :o

Gah 2 weeks is AGES away...although on the day I probably will be too nervous to check.

I know I can repeat when I mess up (no "if", defninitley "when" cos I know I've failed at least 2 out of my 7), but things like exam results actually make me want to vomit and hyperventilate :(

Shur what's wrong with that? Better than just throwing it all away no?

29th January. Sometimes you can get into them the day before so might be worth a look on the 28th. Good luck!

Not the case any more, with the introduction of semesterisation....the repeat module is capped at 40 but you can still manage to get an honour if the rest of your subjects are very good 2:1 and so on so I wouldnt worry about that..

Go onto exams.cit.ie - then go onto the link it gives to see your results - then sign in using your student ID and your password (date of birth) - then when signed in, enter "Registration History" into the search bar.

    Best of Luck:)

Right I'll have a stab at it.

You can only compensate if your mark is 35% or higher. If it is 34% then sorry, you have to repeat.

You can only compensate if your other marks allow you to do so. For example, if you receive a mark of 35% and you have done 3 exams and you got 40% in the other two, then you cannot compensate.

You can only compensate for 2 exams over the whole year. Not per semester. That means if you fail 2 at xmas, then you better not fail another during the summer as you would have to repeat all three.

If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask:)

My friend was asking about that actually, so if you compensate it, she won't have too repeat it in August?

    5.11.2 Pass By Compensation
Where a stage consists of 60 credits, a candidate shall be entitled to pass the
    stage by compensation provided:
    - a pass mark has been obtained in modules comprising a minimum of 40 of
    the 60 credits presented.
    - no failed mark is more than 5% below the pass mark.
    - the surplus of the marks in the passed modules is at least double the
deficiency in the failed modules. The surplus is to be weighted by the credit
    value of the module; and
-all of the module marks presented are first attempt marks.
A candidate who avails of compensation as described above will be awarded
the 60 credits for the stage. Availing of compensation to pass a stage has no
    implication for the classification awarded.
