Just want to compare my treadmill workout capabilities with others to see where I stand. I train on the treadmill 2-3 times a week and my workouts usually last around and hour. They comprise of:

    15mins warm up(12.5kph)
    5mins Stretching
    15mins (14kph)
    5-10mins(14.5kph)
    10mins (interval 15-12kph)
    warm down (12kph)

What are other peoples routine and how would you rate mine or improve on it. I play soccer and my improving fitness levels are very important to me.

Not really something you can compare, tbh - treadmills aren't always particularly accurately calibrated, the incline makes a big difference, etc, etc.

If you really want to know how your running fitness stacks up then enter a race!

I'm no expert but I would have thought there is only so far you can get on a treadmill in terms of fitness. The best results would be achieved doing real running (road, grass, track etc.). Although I know in the current weather situation that may not be so desirable.

Soccer does not involve running for medium to long uninterrupted periods. It is more stop/start.

Don't do exactly the same thing 2 or 3 times a week. Try something like one day intervals (alternate fast, slow), one could be a medium fast run, one could be a longish slow run. Better off running outdoors if possible.

Check out the Athletics/Running/Triathlon forum for more specific running info.
