Due to the bloody flooding down here in Cork I've had no gym for the past while, similarly a fella I loaned my bench to broke the f*cking thing so I can't even do proper lifting at home. After the Christmas periodof indulgence I'm mad to get back into doing a degree of excercise but all I have is a pair of dumbells so I'm trying my best with them. My programme at the moment consists of:

    Goblet squats - 3 x 8
    Shoulder Press - 3 x 8
    One-armed Back Row (on the couch :() 3 x 8
    Press ups (between two chairs)
    Bicep Curls

Is there anything else I could add-into, perhaps more bodyweight excercises of any variety? Is there any excercise with dumbells that could target the lats for instance?

    Mardyke? Kingsley?

you could run, or cycle to take care of cardio, and try to use a pay per visit gym for a good session once or twice a week i.e. leisureworld?

A breakable bench is not worth having in the first place ;)

d'Oracle's post has plenty to keep you going. A chinup bar would be worth getting. If you have an attic in a suitable place you could stick something across it, then drap a couple of strong towels across it and do pullups, or rows if you cannot manage pullups.

I have put towel on the railings on stairs before and done pullups standing on the stairs.

Yeah my gym was the Mardyke, but I hear tell it'll be open at the end of February so I'll make do until then.

In fairness he reversed a forklift over it! :D

That looks the job, only we have one of those Stira yokes. Thanks very much Oracle, I'll look a few of them up on the intraweb.

You can use the gym in bishopstown for free so, and a few other gyms have been doing specials for Mardyke members...
