hi man. start off by reading the stickies on fitness and nutrition forum.

what are your current stats? age, height weight etc. at 140kg id say have a GOOD read of the nutritional stickies, be patient and forget shakes, IMO

At the weight you're at (150kg) skipping will probably ruin your knees. I would assume that walking is your best bet, or swimming alongside weightlifting. You don't want to join a gym as you're self-conscious? Grow up. Nobody feels comfortable in a gym at first, nobody. I felt like a weed, a stick insect in the gym when I went first, but simple fact is, people don't care that much about anyone but themselves while in the gym.

Main thing is to clean up the diet. Read the stickys and re-read them again and use the info. It ain't fun at first to have to THINK about your food intake, but its ESSENTIAL.
In short though, reduce carb intake while upping protein intake and healthy fats. The sticky will cover that in more depth.

If you really want to get in shape, then bite the bullet on all accounts and do it. Might be awkward or embarrassing at first, but its a sight more respectable than being obese and doing nothing about it. So fair play on taking the first steps.
