im surprised nobody replied to this before now. Im trying to kill sometime at work!
you just have to exercise at a pace you can manage for say 30 minutes to start .. each week try to up the intensity or the time

You basically practice. The fitter you are the longer it will take you to get out of breath. There is no magic way of not being out of breath I'm afraid. Try breathing in a nice slow rythm through your nose for as long as you can when you run.

If you get out of breath very very easily you may have exercise induced asthma and it would be worth a trip to the doc to check it out and get you sorted!

I think no-one replied because it was in fitness logs. If you've only just started working out then that's why you're out of breath, you're just not used to it. Why don't you try intervals on the treadmill to get you started? For example set yourself a time of 15 mins and jog at say 8k p/h for 2 mins and then 11k for 1min . Then just keep upping the speed as you get better.

Like said - do not go roaring out the gate if your fitness is not up to scratch. Do it at a pace you can sustain and eventually your fitness will improve and you can go harder and faster.
