I wonder if staff at reception in gyms actually check your photo id when swiping your membership card through the machine. I was going to use a work collecgues card after work to use in the gym he is a member off. Do you think I would get away with it.;)

Sometimes you would, depends on the person behind the counter.

Why not just pay for your own membership though ?

in my gym you would most likely get away without swiping at all (or maybe this is only with people they know), it could be dodgy if you dont look like your friend, especially if the asistant is just sitting there staring at the screen :D

Depends on the gym, in mine, unless the receptionist is on the phone / dealing with somebody, they definitely check your photo. Though some of them know me by now and thus are less concerned.

But in my opinion it is probably a form of theft to do so anyway. You're stealing a service from a company without paying - same thing as walking out of a shop with a loaf of bread which you have not paid for. Can you not ask your friends for a guest pass or something and do it legitimately?

I'd say hot girls and blokes are more lightly to get caught out.:D

I woek in a gym. It really depends on who is on desk, I get couple of people coming to the gym and refusing to swipe because they are regulars. I don't let them it, I have to make sure their membersip is up to date :P. I am an ass!
