Strong rumour over on LF that this game is being moved to Twickenham, no reason given as yet.

Good, just means more of their fans will be there to watch the beating they will get.

You re right there is a larger Leinster diaspora in London, just kidding.

Would be a wonderful occassion. Does Twickers have decent under soil heating? I know they have a good system at the Madejski

Have Reading soccer games been victim of weather recently?

there may be a backlog resulting in the stadium being needed by them

So basically, if Reading win the replay they will want the Madjeski that weekend?

I would be surprised if it didnt have a very good system, the RDS even has one.LI stadium may not though, this could be the reason they are forced to move.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 872 ✭✭✭smurphy29

The RDS does NOT have undersoil heating.

The Madjeski does have undersoil heating but it's down to the FA Cup and if Reading go through, they're due to play at home that weekend.

Still only a rumor, London Irish have said to keep an eye on their web site

Hope this does not go through as twickers is the biggest slurry pit in the world, built only to accomodate the midgets that run English rugby

Did I mention it is a flipping dump

I'd rather it wasn't, the Madjeski is way closer to me!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,681 ✭✭✭✭P_1

Could well be just a fall back in case Reading manage to beat Liverpool, the 4th Round tie is set for 3pm on Saturday the 23rd in either Anfield/Madeski.

If it is moved to Twickers could we see any £10/5 tickets for the match if LI are aiming for a big crowd? May well pop over if thats the case.

Not happy about this at all, I've 3 unrefundable hotel rooms for Reading on the Saturday. Still no confirmation, but it has come from a normally reliable source.

There is a train direct from Reading to that Twickers dump, so if the worst comes to the worst you can still use them

Yeah in fairness Twickers is nt exactly in the most exciting of areas you could head straight back to Reading afterwards.

It will take up 3/4 hours of your day in travel though.

Biggest slurry pit in the world? Dump? I thought it was a pretty decent, world class stadium.

    Explain!

The seats are built for midgets (fecking knees ached for days after the last game there) , the catering brings gouging to a whole new level , transportation to and from the place is a joke

hate it Hate it Hate it

not alone on that ask any Wasks, Quims Sarries and LI fans what they think about the double header general answer is

Great idea but do we have to go to twickers

    From Leinster eZine:
It has been confirmed this evening that the crucial Round 6 Heineken Cup Pool showdown with London Irish set for 23rd January (Kick Off 6pm) has been moved to Twickenham.

This is the result of a scheduling clash at the Madjeski Stadium.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,255 ✭✭✭anonymous_joe

Will that effect ticket prices? Still vaguely considering going, if I can drum up interest.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,303 ✭✭✭crisco10

Anyone know what will happen with tickets bought through STH accounts?

Read over on lf.com that extra tickets are going on sale on TM tomorrow...wonder if I need to buy some...

Did you book the rooms on special offer or something? 48 hours notice usually suffices for a full refund.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,199 ✭✭✭✭Sangre

Probably better for Leinster, less of a 'fortress' effect.

    Downside of groundsharing.

At least London Irish will be playing in London for a change.

Where's the best place to move hotels to?

Far from Twickenham. Because it's shít.

Best bet is basically to get a nice hotel somewhere near the centre. Go for Kensington or whatever, and get the train out to Richmond and then walk/get another train on to Twickenham.

You get to go to the game and then not be stuck in a provincial little hole after. :p

Well I'm staying put, and getting the train from Reading, and then back after the match for more beer. Reading > London.

thinking of going over myself, apparently reading have an FA cup tie the same day thats why the match has been moved to twickenham

If Reading manage to beat Liverpool at Anfield then they would have a home game

This is the lead story on the sport on BBC Radio Berkshire this morning- LI have not confirmed the change yet, even though Leinster have. It is dependent on Reading beating Liverpool in the FA Cup. They have said there'll be updates during the day...

Bit annoyed about this because I only booked the hotel on Monday and it is a room that can't be cancelled! But sure that's life will still be there to roar on Leinster and hopefully be celebrating a Leinster win back in Reading after regardless.

Exactly, some people are getting awfully shrill about this. I certainly won't let it diminish my enjoyment of the weekend.

    Reading > London.

You wait till you get a load of Slough - you'll think you are in heaven.

I'm glad its in Twickenham. London City is only a short ride on the overland or tube from Richmond. South West Trains will get you out to Reading from Twickenham in 40 mins or so.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 597 ✭✭✭yeraulone

more tickets available just now if anyone is interested...

I didn't refer to them as either Liarish or the Not Nots.

So in fairness, that is fairly original. :pac:

Which stand will Leinster fans be in?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 154 ✭✭GadgetFiend

Hi everybody from a long time lurker, few time poster... [dont hold that against me :pac: ]

Anyone else staying in the pentahotel Reading centre and/or know of some decent bars in or around Reading for before/after the train ride to Twickenham?

Pissed off about the venue change, but heard Twickenham isnt the best spot for the nightlife anyway... plus Reading is closer to Bristol airport..

While I know the venue has changed from here and the LI website, I've yet to actually receive an e-mail about the venue change which is kind of bad form and kind of weird.
