Looking for some advice on a gym around greystones. Somewhere clean and decently priced, I'm not too concerned with pool, cardio and weights will keep me happy.

the Shoreline there in Bray on the way out to Greystones isn't bad.
trained in it a few times

Free weights, flat and incline bench, even a few kettlebells
DBs up to 50kg i think

    not bad all in all

    There are two in Greystones.

    Jacki Skelly and Shoreline.
Both have pools weights and cardio.

    Shoreline is clean.
Jacki Skelly, I will go no further than to say I know a few people who have had serious issues regarding hygiene.

There is also a Shoreline in Bray.
Note: Neither are actually near a Shoreline.

Been on the web searching for gyms in Wicklow in general, trying to see whats out there.
Peak in Bray - seems to have closed in November in unpleasant circumstances.
Jackie Skelly and Glenview I'm going to look at over weekend - though only glenview replied to my e-mail to them. I will not sign on the day, so I'm sure JS will not appreciate that (from what I've heard).
Not seen shoreline, I'll have a look now and see if i can squeeze it in. Many thanks.

Glenview is a great spot. Joined last summer for 3 months as it is practically next door. Nice pool, clean, as are changing rooms, and all cardio equipment works upstairs. Squat rack and bench and some machines. I was doing snatches and c and Js and no one gave out either which is a good sign. Be joining again next Summer.

Just don't let JS have your phone number, you'll regret it!

Seems to be a running theme with JS.

Anyone used the Druids Glen? I knew it had a golf course but a gym? Its on the web site advertised with the hotel. I was there around 18 mths ago for a wedding and didn't notice anything like a gym.

Another one I'm gonna try this weekend, if I'm not snowed in.

I saw the inside, briefly, of it shortly after the hotel opened.
    So it does exist.

Thats all I can say I'm afraid.

shoreline is pretty nice , good cardio machines . average sized weights area

    instructors are friendly and helpful

only real problem i had was every time i went to use the pool in the evenings there was a swimming class or aquafit class or some such crap

for someone who works 9-5 the pool timetable is irritating as hell .

Ta for the advice. Went down to Marriott as its furthest out from me. Didn't seem too bad for a hotel gym. Not very big but all major pieces of kit that I'd use were there. Not too much free weights though, having said that I don't tend to use them a lot unless I'm training for sport and its been a time.
