You can still get those Highland bars. Yum.

All the 'retro' bars that you can still get are becoming bloody tiny though, makes me cry inside :(

    Hi,
I know this thread is pretty old.. but does anyone remember the name of the perticularly nasty green bar with black bits in it.. it was the same size as a Wham bar and the same chewiness... if thats a word.. :)

a far as I remember the word begun with 'G'

It was like 'Gargoyle' or something..
    Please rack your brains..

Dan bars were part of my diet back in the day :D

Also blackjack bars and refresher bars. As well as the chewy sweets in paper wrappers (i.e. fruit salad, there was even a postman pat themed chewy sweet) :pac:

    Roy of the Rovers

    Pineapple flavor

Sickenly sweet, the sweetest bar I've ever found.

That's an awful name for them.

    Why change a classic?

It was more a reversion than a change - "Daim" was always the name used internationally, only when it was introduced to the UK they changed it to "Dime" which I guess made it easier for English consumers to pronounce it correctly. At some stage after their height of popularity (which probably around the time of the Harry Enfield ads) they stopped bothering producing different packaging for the UK/Ireland so it became Daim here too.

I remember they always had "Daim"-branded boxes of mini bars in Shannon Airport even during the period they were sold as Dime here.

I used to live on Dan bars n wham bars not to mind stinger bars! Me and my twenty pence pocket money got some amount of junk !! I did however have an awed ul experience with a wham one day.. My four top front teeth came out on the bar as I tried to tare a piece off! After a year of no smiling I decided against ever eating em again!! Tragic because they r so scrumptious !
