How do you know which ones to bet on?
Just guessing or seriously considering their form?
If so, any key things to look out for besides plenty of '1's?

Would love to get into this sport and make some money in the longrun but I know it's harder said than done.

Any help/advice appreciated

My advise is back tom segals tips only,,level stakes ,what ever your able to back with, he only tips at weekends paper tips, and with pricewise extra,,

so level stakes of 20..40...60... i dunno what your comfortable with,, but you need to relise it could take a month to show profit,,, maybe 5 points one month 5 x 60 = 300,,, maybe 20 points profit next month 60x20= 1200.... its up and down,,,,maybe a loss next month of 700... but your still up.... its a game that needs discipline,,,and you need to log your bets to know exactly where you are, and you need to get best price on his tips, as when he tips there slashed seconds later by all the bookies,

you should start with small stakes,
My tips are not worthy of been followed. as there is no pattern or history behind them,, but they are fancied to win,,, except for me long shot ews,,,which cost me money today,

To give a bit more credit where its due, for the number of horses being backed each day its an achievement not to be in the red. We all know sometimes our "best bets" can return nothing for a full week sometimes. Argosy has backed about 40 horses in a week and still shows above the red.

i was thinking of changing tatics..but then again i try to give it 30 days,
it really is a tough game, i had attitude it would be easy to be in profit by few points after 30 days, and to do it consistently,
racing is so bad lately ,nothing is predictable

Its been really bad racing lately - all weather meets are so hard to predict .

My advice to you would be to turn your double in to an each way double.
Take today for example a 2/1 placed and a 11/2 placed nets 78 profitfor a 50 ew double ( asuming they were 1/4 odds didn't check thar race details)
