    Table:
    P W D L F A GD Pts
     3 Arsenal 18 12 2 4 47 20 27 38

    Form:

     3 Arsenal 6 4 1 1 11 3 8 13
    13 Portsmouth 6 2 1 3 7 9 -2 7

League Head To Head (to Arsenal):
    P W D L F A GD Pts PPG
    13 7 6 0 24 7 17 27 2.08

    Squads:
Portsmouth: Begovic, Ashdown, Finnan, Kaboul, Ben Haim, Hreidarsson, Mullins, Brown, Boateng, Piquionne, Diop, Utaka, Wilson, Yebda, Belhadj, Kanu, Dindane.

Arsenal: Almunia, Traore, Vermaelen, Gallas, Sagna, Nasri, Diaby, Song, Rosicky, Walcott, Arshavin, Fabianski, Ramsey, Eduardo, Silvestre, Vela, Merida, Senderos, Denilson, Fabregas.

Everything points to an away win to me with Arsenal looking to close the gap on Chelsea. Fabregas is doubtful, which is a worry but, hopefully we'll have enough to see off Pompey!

Pompey are always tough at Fratton Park. I'm going for a draw.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,177 ✭✭✭DenMan

Looking forward to this one jason. Going to be tough and with Fabregas out I hope Ramsey starts. O'Hara out for Pompey. I'd be happy if we sneak a 1-0 away win, but if we get an early goal Pompey could struggle.

Arsenal to win by a two goal margin methinks. I'll go with 3-1

I just can't see it to be honest, Pompey have improved and it might not be easy but, I can't see any other result...hope I'm right :p

    no cesc?

    hmmm.

if they can get a goal quick, then yes, i see it being comfortable.

but if Pompey can get into a rhythm, they could very easily frustrate Arsenal.

that being said, i think Diaby will get an early one and it'll end up 4-1 Arsenal.

    :p

0-3/0-4 Arsenal gonna have a field day here I reckon.

If Arshavin is ticking it could be a massacre.

If he isn't, boring 0-0 draw

Portsmouth: Begovic, Finnan, Kaboul, Ben-Haim, Hreidarsson, Yebda, Mokoena, Hughes, Belhadj, Boateng, Piquionne. Subs: Ashdown, Diop, Brown, Utaka, Vanden Borre, Kanu, Wilson.

Arsenal: Almunia, Sagna, Gallas, Vermaelen, Traore, Ramsey, Song Billong, Diaby, Nasri, Eduardo, Arshavin. Subs: Fabianski, Rosicky, Vela, Silvestre, Wilshere, Merida, Eastmond.

Delighted Ramsey got the nod. Also would be good to see a Rosicknote cameo.

    Meh, no Cesc.

I notice there isn't an English man starting on either team. Has this ever happened before?

Delighted to see Ramsey get a start, hope he can fill Cesc's boots this evening.

    Apparently not, surprising really.

Pompey doing a good job harrying us so far, we can barely get on the ball.

Can they keep it up for 90 though?

    Better from Arsenal now.

Why was Eduardo not booked for that deliberate handball?

If he had have done that and then scored there would be outrage.

    Awful refereeing

    Awful defending Herman.

He is credited with the goal because the shot was on target before the deflection. If a shot is off target, then gets deflected in by a defender, it will go down as an own goal.

Wish Pompey had played like this against us.

    Ah well

Scandalous defending from Portsmouth, Eduardo was standing on the ball in slow mo in front of three defenders and not one closed him.

    Great finish though
