Looking for advice on buying an exercise bike

    Hi!

I was looking around in elverys (I have a few vouchers to use up) and they currently have 2 bikes of interest, being:
Body Sculpture BC6720 bike reduced to €229 http://www.buy4now.ie/elverys/aspx/productdetail.aspx?pid=6206&loc=P&catid=9.2, and
Horizon Colima Pro reduced to €299, I can't find it on their site or any other links.

Does anyone have any experience with these bikes, or any advice that may be of use to me on the purchase of an exercise bike?

One bit of advice would be to think long & hard about whether you will really use it or not, have you used one before? I love cycling, and cycle everywhere I can, but I could never see myself on an exercise bike. Most I have seen in peoples homes end up as clothes horses.

If you are sure about getting one I would be wary about them in that price range, I would not be sure how long they would last.

I would sooner get a tracksuit & runners with the vouchers, I would usually advise weights too but they are very expensive there for some reason.

    Cheers!

Ya, I have thought about it for a good while now as to whether or not to get one. I used to always use them in the gyms and cycle when at home too. I have started running in the past few months and to mix it up a bit I had decided on the bike as the second form of exercise (had a dodgy knee for a while too so found the cycling good too instead of running when I was trying to regain fitness).

In relation to the bikes then could you recommend any that I could read up on that might be better, or where to source them?

I am actually following the thread about buying a set of weights too at the minute. Not going to rush into any decision anyway!! I’ve been thinking about both the bike and the weights for a good while so it’s not the post Christmas / New Year fitness plans that fizzle out by February:)!
