Lightforce HID conversions

Hi folks,

Has anyone here ever converted their Lightforce to HID? I am talking about scope mounted lights now and not driving lights. I'm interested in the idea of twice the light for half the power consumption. If you've done it, how much has it cost you? Was it worth it? Did it work OK with a dimmer? Did the bulb last long? How has Charlie reacted to it? How does it compare to your previous bulb?

Hey John, buddy of mine did it to a 170 striker or lance not sure which, but anyway, he said the reflector kept getting f**ked up so that's what turned me off the idea.
However I'm still interested in doin it also and read a bit about it online but again alot a fellas havin probs with the reflectors. I just can't afford to be splashin out on a new lightforce every few months.

I have the hid bulbs in my car in the dipped bulbs there seriously bright i was thinking why dont they make the lightforce lights the same?There is not as much heat out of the hid bulb in comparison to a regular bulb so if the bulb was mounted properly inside a blitz housing i wouldnt say it would damage the reflector.
Theres also the heat up time when you first turn on the bulb it starts off dim enough then gets seriously bright-this could cause problems trying to get lampshy foxes.
Heinnie haynes has a hid torch called the wolf-eye crocodile its in a different league to any of the other lamps in terms of lumen's and battery life and unfortunately price!

Think it was nearly £600-its well worth a look though as id say in a couple of years time all lamps will be based on this technology.

I have no interest whatsoever!!!:D

My lamp is fine the way it is!!!!!

(only for the fact that with the current weather it doesn't get enough work!!)
