What's your favourite load-out and why?

I am a big fan of stopping power, scavenger pro and scrambler.

I'm also using the Scar a lot (albeit without much success)

    My favourite is:

Sleight of hand pro, stopping power and commando

    Throwing knife, flash grenade

Scar-H with holo sight and Spas with red dot

Love the spas in close quarters:pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 225 ✭✭OhThePenguin

    My current set -up is:

M16 with bling pro (silencer and holographic sight), stopping power pro and ninja pro.

I use two attachements because I need a sight, and if you don't have a silencer everyone on the enemy team just runs to your dot on radar.
I use stopping power as kills are a 1/2 burst with this on.
And ninja pro because I hate hearing my own footsteps and I love sneaking up behind people :)

    acr with holographic sight
    akimbo p2000's

    marathon pro
    stopping power
    ninja pro

Is cold blooded not more effective than ninja or a silencer?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,565 ✭✭✭✭Tallon

I cannot thank you people enough for using scrambler, it makes killing people and stopping them sneaking up on you so much easier! :p

I tend to use Bling pro, coldblooded and Commando pro fo stickey situations

Its like a proximity sensor. Tells you when they are near. Saved me a couple of times

I tend to use marathon, hardline and steady aim.

I would switch hardline for the lightweight and steady aim for commando depending.

I think Scrambler is a terrible perk as it alerts all enemies in your vicinity to your presence.

Scavenger is great because it gives you an ever-replenishing source of claymores.

Sleight of Hand pro is good for LMGs in that its allows you to aim down the sights quicker.

ACR w/ silencer is a great choice but you must have stopping power on if you want more power than a pea-shooter.

I find that steady-aim is pretty useless.

    Acr/Red dot
    M240 shotgun/Grip
    Scavenger
    Stopping Power
    Ninja

    Claymores/Flash bangs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 455 ✭✭Xyo

    acr - silencer/holo
    tmp
    bling pro
    cold blooded pro
    ninja pro

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,834 ✭✭✭Useful.Idiot

Intervention with FMJ (close to unlocking fall camo now)
    PP2000 with holo

Sleight of Hand Pro (fast reload is nice but mainly for the faster ADS for quick-scoping)
Stopping Power Pro (Cold Blooded on certain maps in Hardcore)
    Ninja Pro

Scrambler is a useless perk IMO. Steady aim isn't too bad if you're using akimbo secondary weapons and the longer breaths for sniping can be handy.

Well I prestiged so I cna't use what I'd like to use, but it also depedned on the situation anyhow.

Assault rifle Set-up: ACR bling pro ACOG +grenade launcher, akimbo magnums + FMJ, cold blooded pro, commando pro

Also like to have this setup for close range maps and double ranger guys:

Akimbo P90's plus FMJ's (or ext mag), akimbo magnums + fmjs's, bling pro, coldblood pro, whatever (ninja probably)

Stabbing class with the usual set-up

Sniper class: M21EBR thermal, akimbo rangers, sleight of hand pro, coldblooded pro, ninja pro

I rarely bother with silencers unless trying to unlock stuff. The silencer takes too much damage away from gun (especially sniper rifle) and as long as you don't stay still too long they can't easily track you down. to be honest sometims i like to fire some shots and have them come looking for me - you just move and aim at where you fired the shots from :D Coldblood is pretty much my most used perk. (currently not unlocked :()

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,132 ✭✭✭silvine

Started using Cold Blooded instead of Scrambler and am getting a lot more kills.

Can't really see the point of Akimbo or Ninja though. Akimbo is harder to aim with and what's the benefit of Ninja if no one is using the heart beat monitors.

Also has anyone noticed less people snipe in this game than in Modern Warfare 1?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭opinion guy

Well you get use to aiming akimbo and two p90's say is an awful lot of firepower. great when you accidentally come across two or three guys in short range at once.

ninja pro makes you silent. plus some people do use heartbeat monitors. aside form that none of the other options for perk 3 are that great (apart from commando but mainly only find that useful for stabbing class)

I mainly only use the acr with sight on medium to long range maps - I'm not the best aim with the iron sight. For short range I prefer akimbo p90's or 1887's or magnums or knife (actually my stabbing class also using an acr but with no acog - just the grenade launcher)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,929 ✭✭✭djan

I usually use ACR w/silencer & Akimbo G18which are the best gun at close to med range Scavenger,Stopping,Ninja all pro & semtex. 9/10 times get a kd of 5/1 or better with this, as you run around and pick them off nd they got no idea from where cos of silencer and ninja pro. And if u move UAV is useless :) Also I hardly ever hip fire so dont need steady aim.

Sniper have Barret fmj & USP.45 extended mags Sleight,Stopping,Steady all pro.

M16/famas/acr/tsar/ak47 with sleight of hand pro , stopping power and ninja pro

For smaller maps , ump/p90 marathon /stopping power/ ninja pro

For wasteland , intervention sleight of hand pro /cold blooded /ninja pro.

    The above for domination/ffa modes

    M16a4 w/ Noobtube (I hate that name)
AA12 (Think thats the name, the really quick shotgun)
Scavanger (Only started using it so no Pro yet)
    Stopping Power Pro
    Steady Aim Pro
    Stun Grenades
    Claymores

Only started using claymores for the first time last night. In my 5th game with them, I got a killstreak of 14 on Estate, and 29 kills overall. My highest killstreak/score ever. I think I'm going to like them :D

    My loadout lately is:

    Weapons:
    M16A4 with silencer and FMJ
M93 Rafica with akimbo and FMJ

    Perks:
    Bling Pro
    Stopping power
    Ninja

    Equipment:
    Claymore
    Stun grenades

I'm really loving the rafica and with the stopping power and the two FMJs, any good clean hit is a kill!

My other loadout which I used to use all the time until I swapped back to the M16A4 was:

    Weapons:
ACR with silencer (no recoil so easier to land more hits)
Ranger with akimbo (overpowered but still fun)

    Perks:
    Marathon Pro
Stopping power (need it with the ACR I think)
    Ninja

    Equipment:
Semtex (nice when you stick it to a teammate and he runs into an enemy!)
    Stun grenades

    ScarH with Extended mags,
    Striker with grip
Scavenger Pro, Stopping power pro, Ninja Pro

    RPD with grip
    Spas12 with Grip
Sleight of hand Pro, Stopping power pro, Ninja pro

    ACR with silencer,
    Stinger,
Scavenger Pro, Cold blooded pro, Ninja pro.

First two class's rape entire teams if you have good aim, one or two bullets drop people dead. I use the last quite often, so satisfying blowing air support to pieces and heartbeat sensor campers.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 133 ✭✭noshankus

    ScarH with Extended mags

I never really liked the ScarH, can't remember why. Maybe I should go back a revisit it. I think it was too slow and I found myself losing in 50/50's too much. But then again, you did say it was good if you have good aim! =)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,265 ✭✭✭MiCr0

    My current favourite loadout is:

    AUG LMG with grip
    Stinger
    Claymore
    Stun grenade

    Sleight of Hand Pro
    Stopping Power Pro
    Ninja Pro

    Killstreak:
    Care Pack
    Pred Missle
    Harrier Strike

Also, playing on a Philips 37" HD on xbox over HDMI.
    Using Turtle Beach X1's also.

Got a respectable 100/20 KD over 4 maps last night :-)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,205 ✭✭✭✭Penn

I switch to a different loadout when there's air support

    AUG LMG
    Stinger
    Cold Blooded
    Scavenger
(can't remember my third perk for that one)

    Acr with GLauncher
    M1014

    Sleight of Hand
    Stopping power
    Steady Aim Pro

    Claymores and Stun

    Use that for most levels

I'm not the greatest at the game, even though I've played over 2days on it now (tryna get better!). K/D is .75 and highest killstreak is 11

I kind of chop and change depending on the map.

My main one recently is probably:

    ACR - Silencer
    M1014 - Grip

Claymore - Loads of kills with these. :)
Stun Grenade - Quicker to throw than a flashbang.

Scavenger Pro - I tend to not die much as I play a bit defensively most often, so this means I don't run out of ammo when I'm killing people. Plus handy for dropping extra claymores.
Stopping Power Pro - Extra damage is sweet. Kill them as quick as possible is my motto. Necessary with the silencer too.
Ninja Pro - Silence when running. I use Headphones so my own running can be quite loud without this. Plus HB sensor guys don't see me. Not as big an issue anymore.

That class does me on most maps. ACR for distance, and M1014 for up close.

But, if I'm on Derail I tend to use the Default Witch class, as it works out beautifully on that map. So many people just use sniper guns and scope in constantly. With so much cover to dash behind, you really rape in a lot of lobbies. I tried for my Nuke for the first time on Friday. Used Harrier/Chopper as Killstreaks. Despite Chopper only getting about 5 kills, I ended up with a 19 or 20 - 1 score. If I'd have used the chopper better, I could have gotten that nuke. Which is pretty sweet using just the knife. :)

Just unlocked the ACR last night. Don't know whether to go for it or continue with the M16A4

I'd say that it depends on how you are doing on the M16 challenges. If you are close to getting some of those 10k XP boni, then stick with it. Otherwise try out the ACR.

It's a very nice gun. Less damage than the SCAR/M16 etc, but it has pretty much zero recoil. So a bit more steady than the SCAR which can bounce around a little.

I tried out the M16 last night instead of the ACR, and gave up after one game. I couldn't get used to the metal scope and hadn't anything else (Red dot/Holo) unlocked yet . I went back to the ACR and got my 750'th kill with it for a sweet level up thanks to 10k XP. I'll go back to M16 again as I used it and liked it before Prestiging, but for now I'll target the 1000 kills on the ACR for another 10k XP.

    Tar 21 w/ Extended Mags
    PP2000 w/ Red Dot Sight

    Marathon Pro
    Stopping Power Pro
    Ninja Pro

    Semtex
    Flashbangs

    Works like a charm :)

    Weapon Loadout

SCAR-H w/ Extended Mags: Makes the SCAR even more deadly. It's essentially the same clip as all other standard assault rifles but with twice the power. Iron sights are excellent so no need for any kind of scope or sight.
PP2000 w/ Extended Mags: Packs quite a little punch in close quarters and can even be used for medium range engagements should the situation call for it. Extended mags give it greater potential for eliminating multiple enemies where it'd normally fail.

    Equipment Loadout:

Claymore Mines: Useful for being placed on high traffic areas of any given map. Effectiveness is more than doubled with the addition of Scavenger Pro.
Stun Grenades: Throw faster than regular flashbang grenades and do more to disorient a target, together with stopping them from moving completely. Useful for throwing over walls or around corners where you know an enemy is to buy yourself time to get after them.

    Perk Loadout:

Scavenger Pro: Essentially an unlimited supply of ammunition. Especially useful for the gathering of more Claymore Mines.
Hardline Pro: Useful for getting those killstreaks just that one kill earlier. Replaces Stopping Power because in my opinion the SCAR-H just doesn't need it given its stock power.
Ninja Pro: Element of surprise is crucial against the enemy, and considering I detect enemies 90% of the time by listening out for their footsteps on my external speakers, I'd rather not fall victim to that myself. Being invisible to heartbeat sensors is a nice extra but not totally essential, though it does help sometimes.

    Killstreak Loadout:

Harrier Jet: When placed upon high traffic areas, the initial bombardment can be deadly, and against an unorganized team or in free for all, is generally ignored under the assumption somebody else will destroy it making it all the more deadly.
Pave Low: Required only 2 kills later (usually acquired via the Harrier), the Pave Low's equipped with turrets either side of it, one flare for protection, and extremely tough armour. Another plus is that it can be used in conjuction with the Harrier.
AC-130: Armed with 3 different cannons and 2 flares (That automatically reload again after 10 seconds after having spent its 2 flares) making it extremely difficult to shoot down, this final killstreak is devastating. And once again, I choose this because it can be used in conjuction with both a Harrier and Pave Low, essentially allowing you to rain death from the skies. Just be careful not to accidentally hit your own Harrier or Pave Low while it's active. It's happened more than once!

Probably went into a bit too much detail there but I'm bored. I suddenly have the urge to go play some more MW2 now... :p

Have to say I've taken quite a liking to having a Javelin equipped on Domination maps (also on Terminal regardless of game type).

On domination maps you can often find a perch overlooking a goal area and just javelin in when there is some action happeneing and pick up multiple kills.

On terminal I like it because I found a nice little spot whereby I can fire in javelins onto the rooftop where people snipe from and they rarely see it coming :D

Recently I have gone away from the red dot sights altogether and Have to say Im not missing them

    Currently using and really liking
    ACR + Silencer
AA-12 (currently just unlocking it )

    Semtex(always fun and useful)
    Flash X2

    Sleight of hand
    Stopping Power
Ninja ( I like not making noise.)

Kill streaks : UAV , Predator , Pave Low

(Only starting to like MW2 recently , PC only LVL 52 i think and KDR of 0.9 approx ..must get that above 1)

Considering swapping out Stopping Power for maybe Cold Blooded? Seeing as the Tar has a high rate of fire there doesn't really seem to be much point in using it. Recommendations lads?

Mastered the FAMAS, probably my favourite gun buuuuut only on some maps - Terminal is my favourite to use it on. I'd say medium to long range maps are your best bet with the FAMAS, prefer the ACR/TAR/SCAR or something fast firing for the smaller maps/indoors.

Tried sniping yet? Barrett with heartbeat sensor, PP2000, Scavenger Pro, Stopping Power Pro aaaaaand Ninja I think, snipe and be warned when (most) enemies are coming after you. Esp. effective on Rundown and Quarry.

I also always have a runner class. Marathon, lightweight and commando with a light gun like a p90 or uzi akimbo. also smoke grenade essential for this class. Great on dominatino - you can peg it to B smoke it out, prone position, lob grenade in general bad guy direction and usually take the flag cause for some reason very few are aware of this tactic start of game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,055 ✭✭✭Cossax

Switching between a stealth class (Silenced ACR, silenced PP2000, Scavenger Pro, Cold Blooded Pro and Ninja Pro, claymore and 2 flash grenades) which I'd mainly use on Wasteland and mid-sized maps) and a slightly more boring but nonetheless useful class (SCAR with FMJ - 30/40 towards extended mags, PP2000 with extended mags, Stinger, Scavenger Pro, Cold Blooded Pro and Ninja Pro, semtex and flash grenades) which I whip out for Favela.

My other current classes are Sniper (Barrett with HBS, PP2000 with extended mags, Scavenger Pro, Stopping Power Pro and Ninja Pro) for Quarry, Afghan, Underpass and Rundown, Close (RPD with grip, PP2000, Sleight of Hand Pro, Hardline) for Scrapyard and Highrise and used to use a Famas class (Scavenger Pro, Stopping Power Pro) but have changed it to the Mwhateveritis to try out the other burst offering on Terminal (esp. if holding the corner up the escalator and dead ahead - point, press, watch the opposition die).

Happy enough with it all, really. Would ideally like a slightly more powerful gun than a silenced, non Stopping Power Pro ACR but the accuracy means I rarely lose out too much in firefights. Tried the TAR with rather mixed results, didn't help I was having a power run.

Out of interest, why don't you just use the Default Class "First Recon" that is available. Only difference is Ninja Pro instead of Commando. I actually find the silent running handier than the Commando Pro. But then again, because I use headphones, I prefer not to hear my loud footsteps. :)

Because the gun is crap for one thing. This class I use with either akimbo p90 or akimbo uzi's. the smoke is also essential for taking flags, especially at start of game - not sure if the default class has that ? (actually I rarely use default classes at all)

Depends on the map and game type. Ground war domination on Favela spawning at A i go for this class setup. Actually i use this class setup mostly because its the most enjoyable although its awful for keeping a high k/d which ive stopped caring about

    Primary - Any Smg, p90
    Secondary - RPG
    Equipment - Semtex
    Perk 1 - Marathon
    Perk 2 - Lightweight
    Perk 3 - Ninja

The beauty about this is the other team spawn a good distance from the nearest flag which is C. So with lightweight and marathon youre able to reach C as soon as the other team do.This is what happened yesterday and i wish i could of recorded it. The first rpg takes out 4 people, i wait a few moments and shoot the second rpg take out 3 people, i wait a few moments more for them to return to capture c and launch my harriers on that position taking out another 2. I wait again and throw my grenade killing 1 then shooting another. I had 14 kills in the space of 1minute 30seconds and kept them off C the entire time.

You can do the same spawning at A in estate. Take out your rpg and shoot it into the building housing the C flag. Guaranteed multi-kill
