Hi, need some help, i'm going to buy a treadmill over the next few weeks, budget is not huge, bout 400-600 euro. Could anyone recommend any particular model etc for that price range that would be decent enough, between argos and other web sites, they are quiet a few different types out there. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks

    Hi,

Well I dont want to put you off your purchase, but your budget is quite low and therefore restrictive.

From my own experience I had purchased a new discovery model around the 800 euro mark around two and a half years ago. Got good use out of it till around 15 months in when the electronic control board went bang. Being a mass produced chinese model, I cannot get it replaced, even though motor still seems perfect, and was bought from a reputable Irish company. So buyer beware.

I now use a road bike with a turbo trainer for indoor aerobic workouts and a second hand bulletproof concept 2 rowing machine and and stick to running outdoors.

given your budget, maybe check adverts for a second hand nordic track or pro-form model that someone else has taken the depreciation on.

here is a link to sweatband fitness, afaik they deliver to Ireland.

hope this helps and its only my opinion.:D

i bought a pro form one - shop floor display on sale model - from everlys. It seems to be good. can take heavy people and hasent broken down yet. Folds up for moving around. it cost 400. dont buy the latest model or you'll pay much more. dont get too hung up on fancy s/w programs either.

Give Paddy Redmond a call - 086-2535446. He sells reconditioned second hand commercial treads and you might get lucky.
