Ah but Fred - the difference is that for lots of British people the Empire is remembered fondly as the "Rare Old Times" in the same way the tenements of Dublin were not rare old times for the residents.

It would be great to see some slave owning catholics in Montserrat.

Probably amusing if they were named Kavanagh.
