    I'm not depressed,
I have a New Guitar and Ipod.
I have a Fridge full of beer and
I am talking to a couple of really cool people online! :)

    I am Happy!

I'm not depressed because I'm smart enough not to big it up beforehand. Got nothing, spent the day alone watching TV shows and films on my own like any other day. If I had been expecting presents or amazing company then I'd've been disappointed and can see how it may have led to getting depressed.

Nah, looking forward to another year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,572 ✭✭✭✭brummytom

    Nope.
Today it was just the family - Mom, Dad, Me and Brothers.

Tomorrow we've got a sort of 'Christmas: The Sequel'; Mom's side of the family are coming over which means more food and presents, they won't leave until Sunday Evening, that's when Christmas will be over for me :D

    :(

Was kinda quiet, family couldn`t travel to meet us with the roads so we had a small christmas this year. They`ll still come up in a few days so its all good. Not too depressed, Christmas wasn`t the huge rush it was back in my teens/childhood, thats the price you pay for being able to buy what you want instead of having to beg and wait 6 months for it.

That doesn't sound like much fun? :(

Did you purposely not bother this year, or do you always just let it pass without caring?

Haven't really given a crap the last 3/4 years but would usually have bits and pieces to do, few parties and so on. Knew there'd be **** all this year so decided to just enjoy my time of college and not pay attention to what day it is.

Post Christmas depression! What BS. Technically its Xmas til Jan 6th, but i think the christmassy buzz ends the day after New Years Day. Its dull January all the way then. :(

+1 for not falling into the hype of Christmas.
Such a big build-up to nothing.
even thou i had all my family around i never felt more lonely and depressed in all my life as today:(
Oh yeah, been there I think.

My attitude now is to ignore the hype and what kind of Christmas TV says I should be having. Fúck it all and be grateful for what I have... let go of all expectations and make the best of it. Thankfully most of the people I'm close to have a similar attitude.

So much doom and gloom i just had to share my christams positives.

We had a truely great Christmas Day.
My wife my 4 year old girl and my 7 year old son playing rockband all day, watched some tv shows, plenty of family and friends visitors lastnight after we had some great family time beforehand.
What a buzz watching the kids enter the living room @ 7:30, i find Christmas so much more exciting now than when i was a child.
Today we will have another christmas dinner,do more of the same like yesterday and generally just have fun.
Im heading out for a few pints this evening and plan on being home about 9 or 10 before the craziness of your typical stephens night mainly because we have no babysitter tonight.
The rest of the holidays are pretty much a full schedule, cinema, small bit of travelling, going to a couple of shows with the kids,a couple more nights out and then i take my 7 year old boy to Anfield on Jan 10th for his first trip to see his favourite team :) i cannot wait for this one :)
After that who knows maybe ill feel a little bit like "oh its all over now" but until then i plan on enjoying every bit of Christmas, its not over yet.

My thoughts go out to anyone spending christmas alone or generally feeling lonely, its can be a lonely time.
I can fully understand Christmas making them feel down.

Had a great afternoon (away from 'family') but a truly horrible evening :( Didn't even end up eating a dinner... had a sandwich at about 4am. Off to McDonalds now for some brekkie!

It was a drama free day which is amazing considering one family member likes to be such a downer. So no post Christmas depression for me. Only time I get sad about it is in January when all the lights get taken down.
