    Hi,

Can anyone help me in getting my xbox 360 to detect my external hard drive? Its the WD My Book elite 1TB I wanna be able to watch my videos on the drive through my xbox. I go into the video section on the dash tray and the "portable device" option is faded out.

    Any useful info there?
Check what way the hdd is formatted in Windows (NTFS or FAT32)

Wow I didnt think there would be something so specific out there, seems like the best option is to stream via the media centre. It would be better if I could connect it directly via usb so that I could bring the drive round to a mates for example, but to mess around with the drive in terms of hacking it im not too keen on. Thanks mate.
