Ok I finished MW2 yesterday, great game etc. But TBH I still have some questions regarding the story.

    1.
What was the missile launched at the US, was it an EMP or nuclear?

    2.
When that missile was launched from the sub was does Price say ''good'' when Ghost was roaring at him that the silos were open?

    3.
Why does Shepard kill Ghost and Roach and go rogue?

    4.
    Is Ghost Gaz from MW1?

Anyone want to help a noob understand this crazy storyline?

    1. It was a nuclear warhead that caused an EMP.

    2. Price programmed it to explode in the air, which meant the resulting EMP would destroy all Russian machinery in Washington DC and slow down their invasion.

    3. He wanted to use his "blank cheque" from the US Government to build a huge US army with him as their sole leader, meaning he would try kill Makarov himself and take all the glory and go down as a US hero (not 100% sure about this one though)

    4. Same voice actor yes, but Gaz died in MW1 so they're not technically the same character.

To be honest, this video should explain to you everything you need to know.

No problem. I don't blame you for being confused though, it's just so unbelievably overblown and full of plot holes, as this guy explains.

    About number 3
He goes rogue because he lost 30,000 men. Maybe in the nuke blast that went off in the first one?

Nuclear missile exploded in the air causing the EMP to explode and affect all helicopters/aircraft to crash out. Americans and Russians would be affected but America was in a desolate position and it gave them breathing room to fight back.
    2.

Price wants it to explode and he's set the restrictions of the missile. Ghost think's he's gone rogue and launching the missile to invoke a nuclear war that would change the conventional war and cause utter destruction for both nations. Ghost was also probably telling Price to hurry that the silo's were open and that he wasn't moving fast enough too.

    3.
Why does Shepard kill Ghost and Roach and go rogue?

They were his pawns in his game to be the eventual "hero"
    4.
    Is Ghost Gaz from MW1?

Same voice actor, Craig Fairbass. My brother pointed it out but I rubbished him, fool I was.

Your man that plays Ghost and Gaz is an English actor, not really in a lot of stuff,I've only ever seen him in The Unit and Rise of the Footsolider.

But anyway,at some point in the game (end scene i think) Shepard talks about losing 30,000 men under his command a few years ago (MW1) after Al-asad set off the nuke in the middle east and that some how made him go on a mad one for some reason.

Debatable if Fairbrass isn't in a lot of stuff, his filmography is extensive albeit with some unknown films/tv shows: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0265492/
