If I didn't already have STALKER and Mirror's Edge, I'd be buying them right now!
Great price for GTA as well, especially with the DLC coming soon for pc!

    /edit
66% off Atari games - Ghostbusters is only a fiver (prolly about €8 knowing their exchange rate...)
Indigo Prophecy is worth picking up too
Director's cut of the Witcher is cheap too

I've only got 2GB free on the drive that Steam is installed on... This could be akward!

I have mine installed on an external USB powered drive, mapped to the same drive letter on all machines I use. Seems to have only a small performance hit but works great otherwise.

USB, just a normal external, an ex Bargain Alert from Dunnes :) I use win7 (old machine) & XP (new machine) and both work fine enough. Not the very latest hames though. Infact I think halflife 2 is the latest steam game I have.

Just got Rome: Total War, GTA IV and Ghostbusters. Yet agin, Bargain Alerts has lured me into another impulse purchase!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,630 ✭✭✭folan

Ive bought Stalker, and thinking about the witcher, but i might just wait to see whats on sale tomorrow.

    love their message:
Oops, this is embarrassing. Due to high demand we have temporarily run out of unique keys for this title. You may, by all means, purchase at the awesome sale price but may not be able to play until we receive more unique product keys. It shouldn't take too long, we have sent armed guards to the publisher's house to get them out of bed, drive them to their secret lair and produce more keys.

got GTA IV and the Witcher

Just picked up mass effect there for 3.75. Took about 5 minutes to process the transaction though

From experience I've noticed that for a while after the deals turn over the whole process is clogged up because a lot of people will be loading up on the new deals.

After a pretty long lean patch, the last few days have had a good few deals for me - both Max Paynes, Osmos, the Source engine remaster of the original Half Life, Darwinia and Multiwinia and Trials 2 today, all of them less than 3 Euro. Valve know how to do a sale, anyways!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,242 ✭✭✭Moon54

Thanks again to the OP, I picked up Mass Effect also.
Steam have had some great deals this year and it's been fun to go onto their site each day during the holidays for the daily deals. :)

Tis very hard to resist these offers. Got GTA4 and the Crysis pack already. Very tempted to get the Doom pack.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,017 ✭✭✭The_Thing

Earlier tonight I bought the Unreal Deal Pack for €13.95 -> http://store.steampowered.com/sub/683/

I also got Alpha Prime a few days ago for 99 Cent - > http://store.steampowered.com/app/2590/ and whilst it has a low MetaScore of 59% I'm still looking forward to playing it - and having just checked the Steam forums there seems to be generally favourable postings from people who have played it.

Another game in the FPS genre I would highly, highly recommend is TimeShift - > http://store.steampowered.com/app/10130/

Would you care recommend Fracture, Haze, Too Human or any other bad game with a tinge of a good idea?

Tucker.Tim, Read what others have to say about TimeShift -> http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=937099

Have you played the game or are you basing your opinion on what you've read in reviews?

So apparently people trying to justify their purchases are more qualified than professional reviewers, yet by showing contempt for the later you kicked out the only leg of your argument. And yes, I have played the game.

This was a game so universally understood to be bad that the publisher deemed it worthwhile to scrap development and start over again. Whoops for you.

This sale has actually ruined regular sales for me, the likes of GAME trying to make out a fiver off a 50 quid game being a bargin is a bit hard to compare to getting stuff like mass effect for 3.75 or gta4 for 5 quid.

    Todays bargains are

    Morrowind goty €5
    Trine €5
    CS:Source €5
    Painkiller pack €8.74
    C&C:RA3 €8.49

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,017 ✭✭✭The_Thing

Agree with you completely, seclachi. All my gaming since the launch of HL2 has been via Steam. I bought Trine earlier for €5. The next sale is the last so hopefully there will be another bargain or two to be had.

    @ Tucker.Tim:
I paid €20.00 for TimeShift, really enjoyed the game and think that it is under rated. Other members of the Steam community have played the game too and have come to the same conclusion as myself. To assume that people are trying to somehow "justify their purchases..." is childish.

    PC Format gave it 80%
PC Zone UK & PC Gamer UK both gave it 78%
