This is a workout i am going to start doing soon

Workout 6 days a week rotating weights with cardio, example, mon, wed, friday weights, tues, thurs, sat cardio, take sun off

    Rotate weights days with upper and lower body,example week 1 mon(upper) wed(lower) Fri(upper) Week 2 mon(lower) wed(upper) fri(lower) week3 back to weeks 1's schedule

    Workout description

    Upper body-chest,shoulders,back,triceps,biceps
    Lower body-quads,hams,calves,abs

    6 sets in each workout
    Reps-12,10,8,(4or6),(4or6),(4or6)
rest-1 minute in between sets and 2 mins in between bodyparts
weights-will increae as I lower the reps

Reps 12,10,8 will be a sort of warm up to the heavy sets
Reps(4or6) what this means is that I must use a weight I can do at least 4 reps but no more than 6, if I go below 4 or above 6 I must decrease or increase the weight

So for example day 1 I start with upper body and my first bodypart chest

12 reps of 20kg each hand of flat dumbbell press /rest 1 min
10 reps of 22kg each hand of flat dumbbell press /rest 1 min
8 reps of 24kg each hand of flat dumbbell press /rest 1 min
(at least 4 no more than 6) reps of 26kg or 28kg each hand of flat dumbbell press /rest 1 min
(at least 4 no more than 6) reps of 26kg or 28kg each hand of flat dumbbell press /rest 1 min
(at least 4 no more than 6) reps of 26kg or 28kg each hand of flat dumbbell press /rest 1 min

Repeat this for all other bodyparts on upper body and do the same for lower body and use compound exercises

This workout takes about 50 mins

    Hi Vampirekiss

I think it may help the more knowledgeable folks on here provide constructive criticism if you add in what your goals are, i.e. gain strength, muscle growth, targeting a specific sport, get lean etc.

    Just a thought.

    Best Regards,

Since you last posted your intention to start working out i've lost over a stone of fat and upped all my lifts...i found the best way to acomplish goals and get results is to go to the gym and stop talking about it.

Why are you doing an upper/lower body split?

What height and weight are you? What are your goals?
