We just had this conversation at work last week. I have been calling it two thousand and 10. Never even thought of twenty ten. think I'll stick with what came naturally!

The London Olympics are marketed as the Twenty-Twelve olympics. I'd say by 2012 the vast majority of people will switch to that way of saying it and rightly so too.

"2010 - Imma let you finish but 1798 was the year with the most debated pronounciation of this millenium!"

Whaddya mean that's not funny anymore?

Dunno, I still think "the year 2000" is futuristic.

Totally. And i'm STILL partying like it's 1999.

    twenty ten.
Is it now called the teens? like the 90's? or noughtie's?

It was called "nineteen-ten" etc (with the "nineteen-sixteen Rising" being pretty well-known) so I'd reckon it's "twenty-ten"

I prefer twenty-ten but imagine it'll be "two thousand ten" for the year and "twenty tens" for the decade.

I hate when the OP doesn't specify their own answers, they just expect everyone to talk about it.

    Twenty ten for me please.

    IBTL.

Has anyone else noticed that when someone says IBTL .. it is almost a guarantee that the thread won't be locked.

Everyone that says IBTL on a thread and it is not locked after 20 more posts should .. ehh .. get spanked or something :)
