Help - can't log in to any profile.

My home computer, the family one, is borked.

If I try and log in to a profile, it either does not load and freezes, or logs off immediately, kicking me back out to the main screen.

I tried Safe mode, and the same thing kept happening.
My PC seems to be unusable, and I can't access any of the normal Malware cleaners.

The only thing I can think of is that when I was on the 'net last night, I got a pop up telling me that someone was trying to alter a registry key, which I elected to block.

    Advice please.

Is it Vista? Is it saying "can't load user profile"?

    Sorry, it is XP.

It just refuses to load the profiles - no error message,

Right, I managed to get a profile half loaded (just a blank screen), and used TaskManager to activate Malwarebytes.

    Hopefully that will clear it.
