I can give them a shout and see what price's they do for a say a group of 10/15 cars if there's any intrest in it?

Sorry, to join in the banter, not dyno a civic :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,391 ✭✭✭5500

we only had a boards one there last november 14th

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=63017692&postcount=32

Didn't get much interest from the masses, mit was in belfast though, one in tallaght might tempt more people

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,620 ✭✭✭Graham_B18C

I was at the one in Belfast and I put a thread up last week about Urban, was on their Dyno last Saturday. It reads lower than AI so you cant really get hung up on the figures.

When a date has been decided I might head along, get my decat and a few other bits done and see if there's any gains.

OP, what car are you bringing?

Maybe edit the Thread Title so Dublin is in it and it might drag in a few more

Yeah strangly enough for the amount of members in the motors section there doesnt seem to be huge intrest, sure we'll look towards the end of january or so and see if there's any pep up in interest then, Im bringing an s2000

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 805 ✭✭✭metzengerstein

id be up for this too ,

any car welcome? if it happens

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,620 ✭✭✭Graham_B18C

It'll have to be a FWD or RWD only gig though, he only has a 2 wheel dyno. If there's lots of interest from 4WD drivers then maybe it could be held in a place in Dunboyne, can't remember the name

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,391 ✭✭✭5500

Sure any car is welcome, doesnt even specifically have to be modified (id love to see a lada riva on rollers!) Cda is in dunboyne and theres also westwood in enfield that can do 4wd

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,115 ✭✭✭Pdfile

ill see if i can get odd's off my mates and we get the costs of doin it covered then ill be along...

Id be up for this too.
Car is due a service now should be running well in Jan.
Hopefully I might get a bit better run than the last time, I was expecting a bit more...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,115 ✭✭✭Pdfile

get a list of cars anyways to gather inerest as cars you like, close competition to yours etc might be their etc.

also im sure if you ask the lads nicely they might put a Real machine on the road and show us how its done.

    PDfile,

Please stop dragging numerous threads off topic with your infactuation with "real cars/machines" next time it will be an infraction and continuation of it then will result in a ban.

    Everyone else,

Please keep the thread on the topic of the Dyno day

I'd be interested in going along to one that's a bit more local like this anyway..
I'm hoping around the 190 mark with what'll be done soon enough..

If its in Urban then don't be too optimistic. He even told me and Onkle that his reads a bit lower than other people's dyno.

Looking forward to you taking me out it the Clio at last though!!

Urban told us that he expects his to become the industry standard (he would say that though) . It's known as the 'ballbuster' apparently

Maybe I'll settle for 180 so..

I forget what Graham got there bit it was less than what he got in A1, but his car was definitely putting more power out

I can attest to some amount of power :P

I dont know if there was a power increase but the car was revving so much free-er, so there would of been a power increase through out the rev range. Top end power though, maybe a slight increase. I got 176 in AI and 170 in Urban. I reckon it'd put down 180 if I went to AI again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,620 ✭✭✭Graham_B18C

Eireal, you gonna set a date for this?

Will give me a restriction on when to have my car serviced by! Been putting it off for too long

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,534 ✭✭✭SV

My car is in for a full service, timing belt and aux belt replacement... eugh

but then again there's full Bilstein suspension and a full exhaust system to go in when that's done..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,272 ✭✭✭✭Atomic Pineapple

New timing belt kit going into my Teg this month so I'll be up for heading with the Teg to it as well for the craic

Yeah any idea of a date for this yet?
The car is in for a full service on monday and I prob will have a new exhaust fitted in the next 2/3 weeks :D

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 9,980 ✭✭✭mik_da_man

    Any more word on this??...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,620 ✭✭✭Graham_B18C

Well Eireal hasn't posted on this in quite a while and since making the thread his car popped up for sale so I assume he aint fully up for it anymore.

I'm not going to bother with putting it on the rollers, but i'll head along and i'll buy my Honda badges off him while im there.

So will we set an oul date for it???

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 9,980 ✭✭✭mik_da_man

Yeah I was thinking of some Sat in the coming weeks.
I'm gonna ask over on the Focus ST owners site, I know some were looking for a RR day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,391 ✭✭✭5500

I was sitting tight on it incase my car sold, that and the fact i ordered a decat so im holding off at the minute

I'd be up for this, my mate is on about going to Dunboyne but would rather head with a Boards crowd if there was one going. What was the name of the place by Belfast that everyone went to last time?

    Ai Autosport

Tis a good spin from Dublin though! Urban only has a 2 wheel drive dyno

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,272 ✭✭✭✭Atomic Pineapple

Yeh I agree, once is enough to tip up to Belfast :D

Also about the place in Dunboyne, I think he has a 4wd dyno, his reads a lot higher than Urban's, A friend of mine had a Levin, read 130 in Urban and over 160 in the other place.

160 seems very hair for a levin alright if it was standard?

Thanks for the info. So is another boards dyno day off the cards for the time being?

I dunno, theres one or two people interested it seems. I'll go along for the banter but there's no need to get it dyno'd again

Trackday Performance in Rathnew,County Wicklow have a 2500 bhp Dynapack setup, that does FWD,RWD and 4WD.Around 30 mins of a drive down the M50.

They have done many rolling road days for other forums and owners clubs, like Toyota,Mitsi,Nissan and they also build race car, rally car and road car engines and track cars too. They also tune, map and dyno alot of the drift cars too.

Urban it is so, I'd say if we could get 10 together we might get a discount on the price, i'll drop Mick a line and see if he can work something out

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,661 ✭✭✭Voodoomelon

What kinds of price is it if no discount?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,391 ✭✭✭5500

What kinds of price is it if no discount?

    It's normally €60 for a fwd/rwd vehicle, I think its €80 for 4wd

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,620 ✭✭✭Graham_B18C
