    Pizza all the way

Chinese. You'd swear the chipper in this town uses his ballbag grease for the fryer.

Can only eat either when i'm hungover. Thai is the way to go!

Chips or chopped up dog? Hmm, let me think:rolleyes:

Home cooking all the way. Haven't got a take-away in about 2 years. Fcuking dirty muck the lot of it no matter what international variety it is.

I love eating chippers, chineses, coke, crisps, jellies, chocolate, etc. It really fills the void which is my life.

Anyway, if your local Chinese has "Mexican Deep Fried Chicken" then get that, even though it's not exactly from the orient.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,641 ✭✭✭zero19

Ah sure have either why limit yourself! Personally i'd take chinese before chipper usually

I prefer more things from the chippper, but I'm good either way. Pizza or subway over either any day :)

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Just on a side note, and while builttospill and Leprachaun are thank **** each other, my former Chinese room mate said all Chinese restaurants in Ireland are **** and taste nothing like the real thing.

He made the real thing one night and I found it ****e.

I'd say your a lot of fun. Wasn't asking you to lick the bottom of an arsnic laden spoon, now was he?

Chipper. 9 times out of 10, its chipper. Sometimes chinese, if I fancy something different.

I'd murder a Thai. (Thai food, thai food, lets get that straight from the bat. Used to love the beef in red wine and ginger from Ruen Thai in Ranelagh. Is that place still open?)

Neither, Chip shops in Ireland are brutal, they don't compare to chippys in Wales. Everything is pre cooked over here, battered sausages are cut in half so they can be cooked from frozen. Whhaaaaa.

Also why the F**k cant you get gravy and chips over here?

He's spot in, the stuff you get in most takeaways is designed for your average thick Irish person and generally just a variation on deep fried something with MSG thickened soy sauce.

Genuine chinese food is amazing, and perhaps obviously, much better from a nutritional point of view.

Can't stand chipper food. Pizza for social takeaway, otherwise Thai or Indian. Rarely chinese unless I'm dying of a hangover.

Indian is lovely too, papadums and nan bread with Makhani Chicken, or a nice rich mild curry.

    Diep Noodle!

Or if you've a good chipper, get the garlic bacon cheese chips. God damn good.

You don't say Robert. You should probably grab a megaphone, jump in your car and reveal this revelation to the masses.

Not a while difference between doing that and living on chippers n chinese food.

And yes I am a lot of fun :). What does eating **** have to do with being fun?

Btw,I've nothing against actual chinese food that you get in China. Like yer man said above, chinese talkaways are hardly proper chinese food.

I eat what I like too. I don't like food that's bad for me.

I find a lot of Irish people have it a bit mad when it comes to food; they'll gladly have 10 pints and head to the chipper but when they here of someone drinking a protein shake or taking creatine they start going mental.

Don't get me wrong, I drink a fair bit myself and at times have food that is clearly unhealthy, but I know what's what.

Which reminds me of a song...

You're eating out of the wrong chippers! The chipper I go to, nothing touches the fat until you ask for it, except for late friday night, when they do it to keep up with the post pub pissed crowd.

I prefer Chinese but I love chipper food too. As long as some part of the meal is deep fried and will potentially induce a heart-attack, I'm satisfied. :D

Indian is good aswell. Never had Thai food unfortunately.

True, unfortunately. Though most takeaway pizzas here are similar to those in the US and UK, so I guess you could call it Westernised Pizza. Just like Westernised Chinese food, or Westernised Indian.

Depends on how much drink I have consumed! Drink goes better with Chipper! mmmmm macaris!

Depends really. If im just looking for something small, Ill get a takeaway. Maybe a burger or a fish. If Im going for a gut buster, Ill get a Chinese.

I always feel blowww-ted and guilty after it though :D

It's not the fact that that you don't eat greasy food that makes him think you're no fun. It's the smug preaching.

The fact that you show such contempt for other people in what they enjoy shows an obvious sense of superiority.

My aussie brother in-law loves Eddie Rockets especially because he can get an Aussie Burger (basically a burger with a fried egg).

I do like the cheese & bacon fries.

If I'm going to ruin myself with unhealthy food I usually go the whole hog and just get McDonalds.

If you're going to get food poisoning..it might as well be from a multi-national corporation as opposed to a stinky chipper.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,377 ✭✭✭Warper

Chipper for me as its handier

Is it me but everytime i go into my local chipper its the same fella working in there, everytime. It could be during lunch or late at night every day of the week. I find this in a lot of chippers in Dublin. Do these people ever take a day off?

Hell yeah! Stingy as they are...

I prefer chinese since it's more filling, but chipper three days in a row really knocks you out.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,619 ✭✭✭Bob_Harris

Most chippers are very poor, with only few being worth while.

Rosters in Bagenalstown is one such worth while place.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,541 ✭✭✭Davei141

I prefere the chinese. One thing i really hate about chippers is being at the mercy of the person serving you, they could give you a full bag or a measly few chips, yet you pay the same.

So we're being judged because we haven't gone to a part of Asia, and tried the food there, rather than down the road, where the food has been adapted to tastes closer to home. Nice.

I eat what I like too. I don't like food that's bad for me.
    Yeah, well, we do.

Neither do I. But as I said, its hardly arsnic. Part of a balanced diet and all that. (I can't believe I said that, honestly, my balanced diet is making sure I've a can of coke to go with my chips, but that's niether here nor there.)
    Leprachaun wrote: »

Chicken chow mein ....then leg it across the road to get chipper chips..perfect combo. The chips from the chinese are mank!!
