Fitness Query - Losing weight/Building muscle

    Hi all

I reckon most of these questions have been answered in previous posts but i just want to put them all together so that i have all the info at my disposal.
    First of all some background

About 7 months ago i was close to 22 stone in weight not so good when you're 5'8 in height. Over the last 7 months i have gotten down to just under 19 stone. This was done through walking 5km three to four nights a week. I wasn't particularly fussed about my diet during that time but was careful not to pig out too often..lol

Over the last two months I have started to do some weights mainly machine based and while the weight loss isn't as pronounced i can definitely see a change in waist size and feel more toned than i was. I have stopped the walking routine but have started doing 50 mins to an hour of cardio 6 days a week.

I want to lose another three stone but also want to build my muscles because i want to go back playing rugby(front row) so while losing wait is a major goal and getting my cardio fitness up to scratch is another goal I dont want to do this at the cost of losing strength and power.

The question i have are as follows

    1. Diet - what are the no/no's what are the must do's ?
    2. Can anyone suggest good websites or books re nutrition and specifically nutrition for training.
    3. Training - Is it possible to have a programme that focuses on cardio and power at the same time or should i concentrate on the weight and fitness goals first and then worry about the power element.
    3. Can anyone suggest good websites or books re weight training ?
    4. Can anyone let me know what i should be eating b4 training and after training to maximise training itself and to help the recovery process.
    5. Supplements , should i look at taking them and for someone with my goals, what should i be looking to take and what brand names are the best?

I know a lot of this has been answered before, I'm not trying to waste anyones time its a genuine query from someone who is serious about changing their lifestyle and has made big steps along the process already. I'd ask the instructors at my gym but i find them generally unhelpful/stand offish so if you can help me out ... thanks very much....
