Time travel is a good one, but I'd like it so that the outcome of any paradox inducing, killing your grandfather type situations were controllable as part of the time travel. Which I think they would need to be before anyone would be allowed to time travel. Unless you get an evil genie, or it's the Elizabeth Hurley one trying to screw you over. Or some sanctimonious prick of a genie trying to teach you some great moral of how you should value your lot of life. Fúck off you langer of a genie.

As far as I understand it you simple create a new timeline which you now belong to. So you can't actually go back in time and kill your granddad and then have you disappear from existence.
