why shouldn't it be? if you pay customs... but most online shops from asia send packages marked as gift so no customs :)))

    What you gettin'?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,208 ✭✭✭T-Maxx

Of course it's legal. Make sure though that any radio equipment is.

BTW, items marked as gifts don't always sneak past. I bought something from Hong Kong recently (marked as value $10), the customs guys opened it up, and I had to show them the Paypal/credit card receipt (€80) before they'd let it through - €16 VAT plus €6 An Post charges...

Are you going to race it in Navan? or just bash it around the beach?
Looks a bit cheap IMO but what you pay is what you get. Maybe have a look at this: http://www.gumtree.ie/dublin/26/45952126.html . It happens to be mine and I'm in Swords so not too far away from you if you want to see it running. We can work the price aswell

    Rubbish again.
Watch out for something Second hand that is a reputed make.
Otherwise just drink your money and have some enjoyment out of it << (Joking) :D

    Hi,
    Where do I start.

    OK
    First off.
    If you hold off till after Xmas would you possibly have a bit more cash to spend? {say approx 200 ish ? }
You will get a bigger choice at that level.

    Now,
What I would suggest is to get in your car ( or get a spin ) to Navan Nitro Nuts,, Have a chat with the lads and see how much you would like it.. ( There is a lot more to these than just take it out of the box and play.

Head to their forum here and register >> CLICK HERE TO BE TAKEN TO FORUM <<

Make contact with Enda ( He has a big list of stuff for sale at the moment and I noticed a nice Cen Buggy complete for 200..!
    Now.
Those guys would be more than helpful with keeping this running with you and also the show you the way.
if you ho to their track and decide that maybe it is not for you then Head to Dublin model car club ( I think it is in Lucan )
They race Offroad Electric Buggys and are much simpler to use and maintain,
Again head to their website >>http://www.dublinmodelracing.com/
Try to make contact with Mick Bolger. He would sort you with second hand race gear.

Hope some of this will assist you .
Any more Q's just ask ;)

For an RTR Nitro I'd recommend the Hyper 7, loads of spares and it's a very reliable buggy.

Give me a website or place and ill have a look. Was looking at the MG10-TR2 the yanks seem to love it. [I have full mechanical knowledge of RC nitro,2 stroke and 4 stroke engines so the mechanics are no problem to me is just using a remote and setting up the electrics]

If I was buying a model car/buggy for under €200 I would prefer to get a high electric that starts rather than a budget nitro that doesn't.
Reliable nitro engines that start with ease cost more, you see.

But I guess you just gotta do it to see (looking back later) that the future is electric, has been for 5 years ... oh that's the present :D

Check adverts.ie for the "had nitro car only used once now for sale" people who also figured it out after they bought the cheapest nitro dog on the planet. Most will settle for half what they paid, but it won't run any better for you no matter how much you make an xmas wish it will.

I've had more models than you can shake a stick at, with all engines, and I sometimes fix model engines for people, and I wouldn't buy a nitro engine model if you paid me. Electric really is that much better!

Ive had electric. But that's why i love nitro the dirt of the 2 stroke. The fun of when it finally works and the tears of when it doesnt. You only get one lifetime why not have fun you'll never know if you never try.

Nothing comes close to the smell and sound of a nitro.

Similarly nothing compares to the insane power of a brushless system.

    Get both.:D

If you still haven't decided yet I'll give mine away for 300 complete package - car, radio, starter pack and even fuel.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 997 ✭✭✭.22 Lover

Sorry but I'm not that well off.I'm only a beginner and all i really want is a car that will be used maby 10 times a year or more that will be well maintained but not that much usage. So its the CEN MG10-TR2 for me.:D

That seems like a killer deal alright. It sounds like it might be the same package that I was interested in way back in 2007 (checked through my inbox), he wanted €480.

Also I can vouch for Plug - bought his mini-t later off him.
