I wouldn't give them anything, though I've never had a PT I've done private Muay Thai classes. Wouldn't have bought the instructor any gift. It's a service / payment relationship.

I suppose a subscription to some sort of health and fitness magazine or a voucher for a shop you know they'd get supplements or equipment in if you really need to give them something.

I am curious but why would you by a gift for someone whose services you pay for?

Oh right I thought it was standard practice to get them something as a kinda token for the work they put in. Maybe a bottle of vino then is enuff! Thanks for the advice - I must say though my PT has made a huge difference to my training and do want to acknowledge that, at least in a small way!

We like it when you pay for sessions in advance :D

Its usually the service provider who tries to show appreciation to the client at xmas. However, if they've become a friend, thats completely different.

For the paid work they put in to make a living!

I suppose its like anything though if you feel you've got better service than expected etc. you could give them something in the way someone might give a tip in a restaraunt when their happy with a meal.
