The importance of a result in this game cannot be emphasised enough. We're at home, where we've a pretty crappy record this season, against one of our direct competitors for the top 4, who are not getting results away from home.

We're evenly matched, playing against a team that will try to play football, and who will undoubtedly score as Adebayor always scores (unless he's injured) against us.

I'm thinking 2 - 2, which is not good enough as we badly need the win now.

id go with crouch up front for this one. keane was crap on saturday , again!

thought hudd was bad too, id play jenas but he didnt even make the bench on sat. bentley and pav not on bench either.

our confidence will be down a bit over sat i reckon .

Nothing short of a win will do for me.

I have stuck by the players when a lot of posters have been moaning about the attitude and focus of the players. But now i'm starting to think they were right. We have thrown things away the last few games which is so frustrating. We have slid from a position of strength to now needing wins just to stay in the mix.

A win and we can all say that Wolves was the kick up the back-side they needed and lets push on and not let it happen again. We would be back in the mix and HOPEFULLY the win would give them the confidence to have a great Xmas programme.

A loss and apart from being behind them played a game more, I honestly think that Man City will just get stronger and stronger as the season goes on which we just won't be able to cope with, ability-wise or physcologically. We would probably also drop behind Villa and Liverpool. The Top3 are obviously nailed on.

would be happy with a draw after the scod half performance ateverton and saturdays performance against wolves. think we should win but id settle for the one point to be honest.

    here is hoping im wrong.

    ill still be watching!

All of these predictions are delusional - ARSEnal put 3 past us, Chelsea put 3 past us, Man U put three past us - man City can score goals, and against our makeshift defence they will Tevez, Robbinio and Adabyyor will turn poor old Dawson, Corluka and Bassong inside out.

Our only hopw would have been to score more, but if you hadn't noticed our strikers have unfortunatly gone off the boil.

    1-3 Citeh

If your right (and you very well could be), there will be no way back for Spurs this season. I just wouldn't see our team recovering and maintaining a CL challenge.

This game is pivotal for me. You never know with Spurs they may surprise us!

I don't know whats happened but most players seem to have lost focus and form - and you have start to question Harry, its his responsibility. Upfront Keane is off-form, Crouch i've never rated to be more than a 7ft bean-pole with a below average scoring record, even Defoe looked out of sorts on Saturday. Midfield, I am sick of Jenas and Hudd, all potential but they just don't want it enough, JJ is obviously happier spending his millions on cars and nightclubs than fulfilling his potential. Even Wilson hasn't been on form. Defensively, I don't know whats happened to BAE and Bassong. Dawson is a great defender individually, but doesn't organise the back-four like Leds and Woody does. And the rest of them (Bale, Bentely, Pav etc) aren't even trying hard enough in training to get on the bench!).

I don't really care who plays on Wednesday. I'm hoping for a rousing and sudden return to form for the players. Something like a performance we started the season with. Anything less, and it really does confirm we are on the slide.

Was that 3 points or 3 pints you're looking for Hatch ;).

Anyway what with Man City being the current draw specialists, I can't see anything else other than a draw, so I'm going for 3-3.

That would be about the best outcome I could see - and our strikers would have to get back on form (don't see it) But this score at least is a maybe!

This is not a game to sit at home comfortably on the couch, could be tense, sad, disappointing, or even down right miserable - If you have a small dog, I would keep it out of the way;)

    not good

"Luka came on for the final half-hour on Saturday. "He couldn't train on Monday because he was so sore," explained Harry. "He's not quite ready for a start. He's trained hard but there is nothing like playing matches and the game took its toll.""

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,661 ✭✭✭mickman

jenas has food poisining so thats why he wasnt on the bench sat.

I dunno, it shows that he's desperate to get back playing, I think spurs hit the jackpot with him.

I doubt it, i think they'll try give him another 10-20 mins tonight and see how he goes... if not I'd say at the weekend, I reckon he'll be back around boxing day, maybe new years.

villa are getting stronger. we are getting weaker

they have beaten chelsea, the pool and united. two of them away. they have arsenal away next weekend. if they get a result there then they are top 4 material

while they are on a good run i dont think they are getting stronger - they tend to play on the counter attack and while that will suit against the likes on chelsea and united , how will they fare against the stoke and other teams who tend to sit back.

with talk of a few players leaving in january - we'll see how they get on in the new year

Unfortunately De-Jong is back - so there MF up against our (lacklustre lads) is Barry, Ireland, De-Jong! Not good.............considering they couldn't break down Wolves........

Spurs have beaten City in 9 of the last 10 meeting as far as I know but I reckon 2-3 tonight. :o Glad Bellamy is not fit but Adebayor always scores against us. :(

great performance and good win. keeps us up there. Back 4 looked good. Wilson needs to go back to passing school, never seen so many misplaced passes.

Delighted with the result and performance tonight.

Tbh I was pessimistic going into the game this evening but fair play, the lads put in a all round good effort and got a well deserved win.

Man of the Match: Niko Kranjcar
Moan of the Match: How many shots did Hudd have and never hit the target once ?

Let's hope we can keep this up.
