Delivering a boat to France with a group of guys who were all good fun and stopping off in the Scillies and the Channel Islands along the way. 7 days of sailing, good company, meeting great people along the way. Happy days.

Favourite thing to do if you had a day off?

Finishing some college work and cleaning the flat today, going to see SATC2 with some friends tonight and then for a few drinks, working tomorrow

Will you be going to see SATC2 in the cinema?

No. Had a Safari Supper, where each friend brings a dish from a different country. There were 10 of us and it was great fun. The Tiramisu was so good I made a complet pig of myself and ate two huge portions!

Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?

Married with my gorgeous house, a baby or two and hopefully a second salon if not a third under my belt :D

    Oops forgot my question.

    Are you going out tonight?

Why do girls like chick-flicks so much? It is not painfully obvious they are all terrible?

Guys like them too. I do love a good girly film though.

Why are we supposed to believe in god when he does so many cruel things?

Because man made god, not the other way around.

    Do you play videogames?

Having a OD balance on my bank account.

What's the best job in the world?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 431 ✭✭havetoquit

One where no matter how tired you are, you look forward to going in every morning. A job that is so enjoyable that it doesn't seem like work. For me, it was when I taught English in a beautiful Italian village in Tuscany one summer. The people were wonderful, the weather likewise, the food delicious and the surroundings inspirational.

What would be the first thing you would do if you won a million?

I'd buy a ford mustang, deadly car.

Do you think Robbie Williams is in the closet ?

    No idea.

If you could make a film or write a book what would it be about?

I would have a mad scientist as a main character, you can make them do anything. House made out of lemon sorbet - why not? He's mad!

Are you going on holidays this year?

    Unfortunately not :(

    Best holiday you've been on?

With 10 of my friends in Barcelona, it was roasting hot, there was so much to do and see, the clubs were great, drink was really cheap and I just had so much fun living with all my friends!

Do you feel sort of un-girly if you don't really like Sex and the City? (this only really applies if the next poster isn't a SATC fan!)

A little, and also as though my female friends are a little disappointed in me!

What was the best prank you pulled on a friend?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 431 ✭✭havetoquit

Absolutely not, as I don't believe that being a fan of a particular tv series/film defines one's degree of femininity/girliness anyway. That would be just plain silly agree? Taste in tv/film/books/music or whatever is such an individual thing to me and I feel the whole SITC is getting tiresome and story lines pretty shallow. The way the story progresses makes it also very contradictive don't you think?

Which cliches do you hate so much you would like to see them banned from the English language?

One April Fool's day I clingfilmed some glasses in my house - if you stretch the clingfilm really tight, and then remove all the edges, you get a taut disc of film that is hard to see unless the light shines on it. Later in the morning my brother appeared in the kitchen with a monster hangover. He grabbed one of the glasses and a carton of orange juice, sat down, and said "Do you know what amazes me, Ailbhe? It's a quarter to twelve on April Fool's day and you haven't pranked me yet!" As he was speaking, he poured the orange juice onto the clingfilm and it went all over him. Ha ha ha! Definitely the best for comic timing :D

I hate the phrase 'leafy suburbs'. I mean, surely trees have leaves outside of south Dublin?

What made you choose your boards username?

Probably waking up and going "oh sh!t I have school/col- oh wait it's a Bank Holiday :D"

Would you say you're more of a sciencey or humanities-oriented type person? (or equal between the two)

I'm an inbetweener! I struggled with my CAO form so much - sometimes I wanted to do English Literature or Classical Studies, sometimes I wanted to do Science or Psychology. Science won in the end, I got my degree, and now I'm doing a masters in Science Communication. Love it! It's like doing an arts degree about science :D And I get to WRITE AGAIN!!

What's your favourite way to spend a day off? (presuming you have no work to catch up on)
