there's a thread here with peoples recommendations.

My own preference is McElroy School Of Motoring (Harry McElroy).
Learned to drive with him and found him to be a good instructor. (No.: 09064 94263).

Does lessons in Athlone. I found him very accomodating and is an exellent instructor, he teaches 7 days a week which made it easy for me to get lessons as I work full time. His number is 087 7440913.
